Adam Reach

Adam Reach got to be up there with Lewis Buxton for the most dramatic turn around in fans opinions. He's took a hell of a lot of stick, from me included. Even when he was playing poorly at the start of the season he grafted. He's continued to graft, his form has improved and he's become our most important player during this whole injury crisis.

Well done Adam.

And yet not two weeks ago I was having to argue with someone on here that he was Championship standard and not synonymous with a relegation season.

Madness

Surprising, because despite our troubles this season, Reach has been generally one of the better performers, and certainly a much better player for us than last season.

I think he stepped up another level tonight though.

This injury crisis has been like a biblical plague, but you always hope that what emerges from it is a few success stories of players that have taken the opportunity given to them. This is what perhaps can be said of the likes of João, Venâncio, Nuhiu, and all the kids, but in Reach's case he's been playing all the way through, and yet I still think he's been a winner from the crisis because he's stepped out of the shadow of the likes of Bannan, FF, Hooper, Lee etc., and really come into his own.

Everyone brilliant tonight, but how good is Adam Reach? Bossed that game.

He is now looking like a real player , a bargain . He can be our playmaker in a free role in my opinion. Long term captain material as well.

Strangely Lewis Buxton was also somewhat of a non specialist.    He played all along the back and I believe (but memory may be failing me) the very odd jaunt just in front of the back four.

Recurring theme?

I think we need to put to bed the idea that he is a wingback or winger.

We have ourselves a box to box midfield player, with pace to carry the ball forward quickly and way in with a few goals. These type of players cost a fortune, just look at Sam Clukas.

Said on a thread a couple of weeks ago, he must be a managers dream, never injured, can run all day, versatile and doesn't seem like a troublemaker.
