No idea if its correct or not but i have read that Jos likes a 4231 set up.

If so i look forward to that. With our players we could be pretty decent at that. Certainly Abdi and FF could flourish in that and we have enough DM to play it.

Should have tried it 6 months ago.

If that's the case we will be offloading about 4 strikers then.

Jos likes man for man marking when he needs to get a result so we may very well match them up...

                                Wildsmith

        Palmer             Loovens           Van Aken

Hunt            Hutch      Abdi      Jones           Reach

                          Nuhiu       Rhodes

352 works as well.  Whichever he goes for it looks likely to be different to before. Looking forward to next season.

I think 3-5-2 suits our players .

Id like to see a back three of Lees,  Hutch , Van Aken when all are fit.

With what defensive midfielders?

We have one under contract, who is rarely fit.

As long as Loovens never gets anywhere near the side I'd agree in principle.

I even think we could do Pudil  -  Van Aken -  Lees back there, since I think we need Hutchinson in midfield / he won't stay healthy.

Palmer can't keep it together defensively with four at the back, the last thing I'd want is him in a back three.

Same goes for Loovens - definitely does not have the legs to be left isolated back there.

We can go three at the back, but only if we're prepared to drop Loovens from the side (which is long overdue anyway, in my opinion).

We are struggling for runners.

Despite his “size” If Hunt is fit and we want to play 4231 I would consider Palmer at side of Hutch.

He makes long runs from full back , and I realise he struggles to get back at times, but physically he is more up to the job in midfield than anybody else we have.

It would be great to have someone who can actually get over the half way line playing in centre midfield .

We don’t have enough runners to leave Hunt or Palmer on the bench on Friday.

Could work if we don't bring anyone in:

                                              Joao

     Reach                                                                   Boyd

                                              Abdi

                                   Hutch      Butterfield

Pudil                     Loovens          Van Joost                    Hunt

                                          Wildsmith

But that's 4 - 1.5 - 3 - 1

Depends if you count Butterfield as one or half. Mind you I do like the idea of Hutch keeping an eye on him - he won't take no laziness. Also Butterfield Abdi and Boyd have so little game time between them. How about Clare for Reach and Reach for Butterfield?

Hooper as striker.

Best technical finisher with good set up touch...

but would struggle to play the 'one up' in a 'one up and support system'.

hooper is a finished, he is at his best when feeding off someone, you can't tie a pedigree finisher to a carthorse job.

sure let's do that mid season and get relegated. 3 at the back is a big change.
