With our players we could be pretty decent at that. Certainly Abdi and FF could flourish in that and we have enough DM to play it. Should have tried it 6 months ago. If that's the case we will be offloading about 4 strikers then.
McRightSide
João can’t play upfront alone. His ball retention and link play is abysmal. He’s better starting from a little deeper and a little wider where it’s a little more forgiving to his suspect touch / decision making Edited January 7, 2018 by McRightSide

Fuzzy logics
Jos likes man for man marking when he needs to get a result so we may very well match them up... Wildsmith Palmer Loovens Van Aken Hunt Hutch Abdi Jones Reach Nuhiu Rhodes

We have one under contract, who is rarely fit.

As long as Loovens never gets anywhere near the side I'd agree in principle. I even think we could do Pudil - Van Aken - Lees back there, since I think we need Hutchinson in midfield / he won't stay healthy.

Wildsmith Palmer Loovens Van Aken Hunt Hutch Abdi Jones Reach Nuhiu Rhodes Palmer can't keep it together defensively with four at the back, the last thing I'd want is him in a back three. Same goes for Loovens - definitely does not have the legs to be left isolated back there. We can go three at the back, but only if we're prepared to drop Loovens from the side (which is long overdue anyway, in my opinion).

joelswfc
Matching the blades for formation is definitely a possibility. Having said that, a back 3 of Loovens, Pudil and Venancio terrifies me a bit. If we line up with a 442 the fans might go into meltdown.

swfc-dan
Hooper couldn't play as the lone man. I guess he could play behind the front man, but then doesn't he do that normally anyway?
oldishowl
We are struggling for runners. Despite his “size” If Hunt is fit and we want to play 4231 I would consider Palmer at side of Hutch. He makes long runs from full back , and I realise he struggles to get back at times, but physically he is more up to the job in midfield than anybody else we have. It would be great to have someone who can actually get over the half way line playing in centre midfield . We don’t have enough runners to leave Hunt or Palmer on the bench on Friday. Mind you I do like the idea of Hutch keeping an eye on him - he won't take no laziness. Also Butterfield Abdi and Boyd have so little game time between them. How about Clare for Reach and Reach for Butterfield?

Nero
There's rarely anything as unintentionally hilarious as an Owlstalk tactics thread. Especially one based on 'formations'.
