Perhaps Doyen can get rid of a few of our players to some unsuspecting clubs. They have had our pants down enough times now they owe us.

Probably our best rising young stars from the academy.

After all they only gain from touting our best prospects.

It's not who you sign, it's how you teach them

Sort of.

It's hard to teach natural pace though..

I agree  when signing promising young guns. We should be improving them.

When you are signing  30 year olds though...

When you're signing in the bracket of what could be considered 'ready made' players.....then you have to sign ones that fit the plan and the system.

Then look at how many players played yesterday who were Stuart Gray signings Westwood, lees, loovens, Lee, hutch (if fit would have played) half the team not Carlos buys but play every game. Then palmer , Wildsmith, nuihu in bench again not Carlos buys either.

Does not say a lot for Carlos putting his stamp on the team when you think the amount of players signed over last 2+ years you would expect 1 or 2 not 5, look at villa 1 season into Steve Bruce's reign and see how much they have changed a while new team.

You sign one of the most potent strikers over the last 10 years in the championship then don't play him, then when you do you give him no service.

This piece of excellent business will eventually cost us £8m fee and £2m a season in salary one major wee wee tail up no wonder FFP is an issue

Gray hold squad did cost including wages what  a badly managed Rhodes will cost us.

3 changes to the team that was good enough to reach the final 16 months ago. Why is that so bad?

Because we haven’t improved?

leaving Wembley that day me and a few mates all agreed we needed a few players and the main area was midfield. Diame was a difference besides the goal, we seemed a bit lightweight in there. This still hasn’t been addressed.

If those three players were the mobile, quick centre forward, a midfield general and an upgrade on Loovens at centre back that we needed two seasons ago then it wouldn’t be bad at all. Unfortunately they are not.

I think when FF and Hutch are fit, we will be fielding the EXACT team that started the final.

Carlos will put FF in for Fletcher, and drop Reach (or play him LB) to make room for all three of Lee, Bannan and Hutch in midfield.

All the right players just not in the right positions.

in a 4-3-3 or even 3-5-2 Hutchinson, Bannan and Lee would be a great triumvirate.

Unfortunately, Carlos tries to shoehorn them into a 4-4-2. A system for which we lack the pace and physicality to play effectively over the course of a season.

Check out the starting lineup at Wembley when we lost to Hull City in the playoff final in May 2016

Compare it to the current starting lineup despite all the new signings

Something is seriously wrong regarding recruitment and new players isn't it.

Thats my gripe with cc, spent loads and not improved, not good enough by far

Shocking and incredibly incompetent.

How can a club spend so much and not improve the side in 2 years ?

Forget the crap results. Forget the crap football. Lack of improving the starting 11 is a sackable offence in itself.

After hull was bad enough but to ignore the obvious after hudds is criminal
