Carlos "We will play differently against Cardiff"

Recommended Posts

Neil Warnock's absolute hero is/was Brian Clough, hence his Mr Nasty persona, he is no fool and will have already identified our weaknesses, hopefully prior to our up turn in form. In my opinion we need to come out of the traps very quickly in order not to be caught napping, he's no master tactician, I played in the same side as him when we were kids, it was all about speed with him, I'd love Hutch in the team as a surprise addition, that would trash his pre-match tactical talk big style.

Probably just talking about moving Reach forward one slot and bringing a left back in

Yep that's what will happen. Pudil in and Reach moved forward.  May rest Lee too.

We know it'll be a battle as king pig is in charge and as always they'll be physical, robust and at times brutal.... Instead of changing tactics and formations, we need to sign up the England egg chasers on loan for a match as I do really worry about our ability to deal with this kind of team and lack the players that can step up against such opponents.

I hope so because if we start like we did on Tuesday we will get hammered. As I said on a different thread Bannan was dropping so deep to get the ball it was ridiculous, he was pretty much picking it up between Lees and Van Aken. Not a dig at him but more the tactics employed, even more pointless when Van Aken is comfortable with the ball at his feet.

We were also so deep when they were in possession that we almost had two flat banks of four which was inviting unnecessary pressure and then when we regained the ball, regularly had 7 or 8 players behind it. Lost count of the amount of times Hooper and Fletch were isolated and the long ball was the only option, where they had to fight for it against their back four.

IMO we need to be much more positive, especially in the first half, both at home and away.

Total football innit!

Hunt lees joost reach

Wallace jones lee bannan

                Hooper

             rhodes/joao

Bannan will hopefully protect reach vs their quick winger.

We probably wont be attacking putting in many crosses for rhodes so would look for a countering threat with joao, even if hes a sub, but rhodes better defending warnock set pieces.

Matias on for wallace at some point maybe too for some added pace and fresh(ish) legs lol

A strong/fair ref would be right handy for this one.
