You say that like a transfer embargo wouldn't be a really bad thing. Personally I see the benefit of being able to improve the squad.

Depends who you are, what you're doing, and how much over it you go. Sanctions are effectively bespoke, and have historically been decided on a per-club/per-case basis. Man City, for example, were fined €60m and only allowed to name 21 players (rather than 25) in their Champions League squad the next season, with eight of those homegrown. There are also ways around FFP, as we know, but some of them are exposed and punished too. PSG were heavily sanctioned 'after a sponsorship deal, arranged with Qatar’s tourist body, was deemed to have been of insufficient value to match the £167m PSG received for it' (per this piece in The Guardian), which is presumably why Chansiri can't just keep starting up random taxi firms for the next three years

The Night-Owl
Personally baffled by that Jota. If he does sign for Birmingham for £6million? After interest or bids supposedly from the top flight for more? And Jota and Brentford saying, he wouldn't leave for another Championship club. Plus, what's happening to Brentford? They seem to be selling everyone, and are struggling after many thought they might be a dark horse this season. Myself included.

toppOwl
QPR flouted FFP and got away with it as it lead to promotion, Forest tried and didn't get promoted - its not been so good for them since.

I'm not saying we don't but there seems to be a hell of a lot of assumptions around transfer fees and what we pay our players on here. Never seems to be backed up with anything though.
