I feel like their new owner is just trying to appease the fans with signings to be honest.
twolaptops
Perhaps some of our rivals think we are weakened by FF in our squad.......unrest...not playing....drawing big ££££'s.....restricting transfer activity...........so leave him be ???? WalthamOwl
Seems very quiet with names being linked with us. I'm sure Staton will be along soon to tell us he expects no business from Wednesday today.

paulrs
Jota's good but where would've he have fitted in? We struggle to accommodate FF in Carlos's formation and I think we'd have had the same issue with Jota, good as he is. IF we're to persist with Carlos and his narrow 4-4-2 then its strength in midfield and quality at full back I'd want us to look at (which makes missing out on Irvine more disappointing than Jota IMO) Edited August 31, 2017 by paulrs
Bluesteel
I think we are more in need of a box to box midfielder than a winger in our system. Kieran Lees absence shows that. But if FF does go to fund that then we are very predictable Edited August 31, 2017 by Bluesteel

pazowl55
I don't think we have actually missed out on Irvine as had he been a realistic option for Carlos we would have had a massive chance of getting him.

owls_wawaw
I think we should be happy apart from the defense debarkle that we seem to have learnt some lessons and not buying the world. if a player will not improve us we are not buying them which is positive for us. we are slowly but surely going to have got rid of a lot of dead wood at the end of this season

room0035
How about the Owls make a cheeky loan bid for Bakary Sako a strong direct winger who scores a lot of goals at this level, could be the missing link for our team and maybe another player not getting a look in at the moment on a half season of full season loan Jeffrey Schlupp again at Palace we are still weak at left back and this would be a signing of intent. Lets off load Rhodes for £10m - £12m to highest bidder with maybe a small sell on clause in there remember on deadline day the selling club should hold the cards, try and get Joao and Nuihu either out on loan of sold, Still leaving 4 strikers in Hooper, Fletch, Fessi, Winnall and Hirst may then think he has more chance of first team football and sign a longer deal then go out on loan until January so to Chessy or Rotherham so he is local does not have to move anywhere and is local enough for the Owls to keep track of his progress. southportdc
The amount of offers for our star players from direct rivals who'd usually have no shout is interesting. Wonder if we need to offload and they know it.
