Closing the transfer window at season start..

Seen this article about premiership clubs talking to see if the can change the transfer window before the first game of the season..

Really think this should be done, everyone will know what they have or haven't got at the start and everyone can just watch football and not have the transfer cloud hanging over the club.

Trouble is other European countries don't shut theirs so it could leave teams weakened with no chance of replacing players.

Love that idea. Furthermore they should scrap the January window too. All clubs should get their deals done in the closes season. Job done, you use what you have then for the season.

Let's me honest, the current transfer windows are purely designed to put money in agents pockets.

The old way  was the best 1 transfer deadline in March the present way just inflates the market

We'd have to do our business quicker or else we'd start the season with no new players. If the January window was scrapped along with the summer window closing before the season started, we'd be in a bigger mess than at the start of this season, and we'd be screwed.

Personally I like the excitement of a mid season window - though I agree the first window should close as the season starts.

They were discussing this on SKY at the weekend, unfortunately some leagues in Europe do no kick off until a month after ours, therefore to accommodate the window closing as the season starts everyone in Europe would have to kick off in roughly the same week or it won't happen.

Can you imagine if the window closed a month before we kicked off here!

restricting when clubs can buy and sell players is just putting up the prices. Look at the ridiculous fees paid for some players. Get back to being able to buy and sell when you want to and the greedy agents will get their comeuppance.

Haha... maybe players and agents would stop faffing about and have picked a club by now.

If a player had to make a decision in less time surely would would have got someone in..

Just get rid of the nonsense idea of a transfer window and let clubs do business when they want. It doesn't protect players it leaves players stuck with no options for months... it's an old antiquated idea and it needs binning off. If we want to loan a player from Zimbabwe in October... why the roger not, get out of the way of progress you corrupt old farts.

Go back to the old system, but limit the number of players a club can buy. Like, sell 3, buy 3, or something like, and do away with the Loan system,except for serious injury replacements.

If yoy wanted to make it really interesting you could make all contracts 12 months starting at the start of the season. Managers included. End of the season you can re-sign for another 12 months or go elsewhere. Long contracts are a waste of time these days anyway.

When I was a kid, you could buy players right through until March. I never understood what was wrong with that. I assume that this current system has been designed to generate entertainment in the media.
