Imre Varadi's Conker
Well done to Huddersfield, we had our moments but all in all they were the better team over the two legs. 6th, 4th, let's have 2nd next time with a couple of Blade thrashing thrown in. Onwards....

Costello 77
Should never been pens. Brilliant getting the away draw. Then like an amateur, he plays an away team at home....Words fail me
Fast Forward
Our big money signings Rhodes and Reach on the bench should tell us something about our recruitment. All that money was evidently not well spent.
DJMortimer
Going into extra time we had mustered a grand total of 8 goal attempts (2 on target) in two full games of football for a huge prize. Carvalhal has to take responsibility for his crushing, stifling negativity. And not just in this game; half of the season has been like that. It's not quite as boring as the days of Stuart Gray, but then he didn't have £20m of attacking talent to call upon. Instead it was Atdhe Nuhiu, Stevie May and Chris Maguire. Carlos' cowardice has squandered an enormous opportunity. Sure, if we'd had a go we might still have lost, but it would have been easier to take than this apathetic, cynical drabness. Imagine fighting for the heavyweight championship and spending the entire bout running away from the other bloke and hardly throwing a punch at him. Bluesteel
If we want to get promoted we need to actually believe we can do it. We have filled our pants when it has come to penalties in key games for most of the season. Scored more of them and we could've gone up. I also think that any side with pace and energy prevents us from playing. We like to work it through the thirds and if we don't have a link a huge gap develops. We need players who can drive forward with the ball in midfield when the tippy tappy stuff doesn't work. This is where the managers philosophy comes into play, he will need to change it further if he stays.

The Dukeries Owl
Said when I saw the team that Carlos had bottled it. I stand by my words.
eddyowl123
Not tonight. Too negative on the whole I feel, and we just never looked like the team we know we can be. Positives: defended well tonight and for most of season fans were good tonight and for most of season highest league finish for however many years Negatives: main negative is negativity itself (ooh, meta) throughout the year we lost our edge this year, not helped by the injuries but also not completely down to them we haven't gone up Ah well, next year we'll smash it. Storm the league and have six points off the grunters while we're at it. It's been a blast, see you all next season.
southportdc
I like Carlos, and I think he's been good for us, but this does feel like a natural parting point.

Eastern
Gutted. But expected the outcome the moment they equalised.

Spencerowl
Absolutely devasted. Fans were brilliant tonight though, even the south sang their heart out. Well done Udds, your vile fan forum must be jumping, Reading i fear will do what we clearly couldn't.
Bluesteel
This feels like it could hang over the club this, the whole game was dissapointing from the off. When we finally scored we looked ok, but after the equaliser we didn't look to have anything left.
VictoryBell
It gets worse. As of August, we now have to play United, Middlesborough and Sunderland as well as the usual knuckle-draggers and we'll have to clean up their infected drool after they visit Hillsborough next season. Oh maaaan! Tonight, it's like we are the sweaty sock of the championship!
themaskedowl
As said by others, Hudds were the better side over two legs. Can't begrudge them based on their performance and ours. @Bluesteel I hope you are wrong but I know what you mean. It almost hurts more than the playoff loss as we are capable of better. We were just lucky to be there last season, not so this time. We could and perhaps should have done more.
Surrey_Owl
Hudders played by far the better football over the 2 legs and over the course of the season. Beaten by the better team
