Posters state that we are a better team with him in the side but the points haul says otherwise. Yeah, as I said, points tally comes down to whether a single player is in the side or not. Nothing else involved. Cheers.

Or do you mean last season compared to this season?

That is a meaningless stat as are most quoted on here Takes no account of opposition, how other players played etc For all it shows Lee might have been our best player in every game he played but if other players were poor and we lost then points gained would be less. eg Lee had a fantastic game at Derby. We lost to 2 set piece goals when our centre halfs failed to mark at corners.
Guest
Lee is one of the best midfielders in the league in my opinion

Not only that but it also negates the fact we were terrible at the start of this year and have improved consistently as it's gone on, with one or two little wobbles
Shifty Powers
Best midfielder on our books and one of the most underrated midfielders in this division. His drive, intensity and fitness have a huge bearing on how quick our tempo is and that is something that has been badly missing all season. Delighted to have him back. Is that fairer for you? 6 minutes ago, oldishowl said: That is a meaningless stat as are most quoted on here Takes no account of opposition, how other players played etc For all it shows Lee might have been our best player in every game he played but if other players were poor and we lost then points gained would be less. eg Lee had a fantastic game at Derby. We could also look at his contribution in the Bristol City game where his goals won the game but also his suicidal back pass that gave Bristol City a penalty and got Hutchinson sent off. We got lucky in more ways than one with the late goals, the missed penalty and the Bristol City player getting sent off.

Why bother? Our improved points tally is purely down to one single player not being available for selection. Simple as that, isn't it?

Bang on. integral part of our team & has established himself as a very good championship player with goals, energy & work rate. He's a player that could step up if we got promotion

Neither Hutch nor Jones play the Lee box-to-box role. Jones and Hutch, if played together, would be awful. Even less creativity than we have now. Holmowl
Not one of these players, even fully fit, are guaranteed a start. Rhodes Hooper Fletch FF Lee Hutch Bannan Jones Reach Macca and Buckley aren't getting near a start. Amazing quality of forward/midfielders in our squad. Wallace is pretty much the only certainty. That's some complement to how he has been playing.
