Charlton vs The Owls. Official Matchday Thread.

No mate. Just can't hear the obvious "Giddings hates Wednesday" tone to his commentaries, mate. If people don't rant and rave a la John Pearson, they must hate Wednesday. Utter garbage mate. Alright mate? Cheers mate.

You really have a dislike for the word mate don't you.

If you're gonna lose 3-1, the best time to do it is before the international break.

CC got two weeks to kick their arses back into gear.

Two weeks to get Hooper up to speed.

Two weeks to glue Loovens, Turner, Matias, Lopez and Sougou back together.

Just hard to take, we have a chance to get in the top 6 and show the old wednesday way of throwing it away to a poor side.

What the chuff is an 'agricultural clearance'

Giddings has said it so many times today lol

Lacking in finesse. I'm not sure if he means it as a compliment or not. Presumably he does (who wants a clearance that is delicate?) but he always sounds like he's being disparaging.

Perhaps he's just a knob.

Giddings is just a little too happy when Charlton go forward, even if he is a pig he should still be looking to get behind a local team that he's commentating on..

Where do people get this rubbish from? Giddings is an acknowledged Halifax Town fan. In fact, when Brian Laws described Luke Vardy as a former Stocksbridge player, Giddings said something like, "Former Halifax Town player actually". If commentators don't scream and shout about Wednesday, according to people on here, they must be anti Wednesday, or United fans. Absolutely nuts.

And he's reporting he gets over excited whoever goes on the attack but when we are winning its not commented on because he's supposed to be excited

There is absolutely no anti wednesday bias in Giddings commentary style

It"s a matter of opinion, I used to rate him as he once stood up to DJ, it might be the inflection in his voice / presenting style but it does sound "enhanced" at times..
