Honestly. How many people would think lowering a sign over a building that your already own.... which is over a painted blue wall.... would actually need any form of planning permission at all ?

This shouldn't need planning at all. IMHO.

It has an effect on the surrounding area, particularly as it is in full view of a major busy road. If there were no planning permissions to be sought the club could effectively plaster whatever they wanted to the side of the stadium......

The most interesting thing about that is the small print on the bottom about the confidential info and the fact the email is intended solely for the person to whom it is addressed............

That and the fact they have gone for 3 separate applications, surely they could have tried to blag it as one application for the whole stand to keep the costs down!

If you didn't control huge signage then there would be all sorts popping up. A lot of signage has deemed consent in any case but when it's of a certain size and next to a highway you usually need to get consent for it.

As soon as you submit anything formally as part of a planning application it becomes public information, with the exception of some of the legal agreements.

Sometimes it's best to go with three separate applications too as then if there is an issue with one it doesn't hold the others up. The fees involved for signage are usually minimal

Purely hypothetical, but out of interest, if Chansiri said that this was a way around Financial Fair Play and was the only way we would be able to sign a striker in January within FFP rules. If he then offered you the option of keeping or removing it, what would you say?

The true supporters would all say yes, yes, yes!!!

You'd think Eastwood & Partners would be well aware of the regulations here.

Almost as if we always intended to get the banners up and then apply retrospectively.

It's easier to ask for forgiveness than permission...
