Because having a great manager is great- but if it was a choice between having a manager of a certain ability who was like Hitler, or a manager of the same ability who was like Gandhi, it's not exactly a difficult choice as to who you'd want in charge. Having a nice manager is a nice cherry to have on the cake, it's not a selling point but it's just a nice thing to have when they're happy to take a couple of minutes out of their day to indulge fans.
