Good player, great skipper but has everyone forgotten his disgusting treatment of the reporter just a couple off the ago then the following days press conference when bbcs pat Murphy quite rightly grilled him.

As a person I hope he never manages our club. Arrogant tosspot.

Dear Mr danianb1

The arrogant tosspots you refer to in that exchange are most clearly the reporter and his BBC 'minder' Murphy. Your description of Mr Pearson's treatment of the 'reporter' as 'disgusting' is laughable. The man could not report gunfire on the Battle of the Somme. The despicable closing of ranks by the BBC and subsequent targeting of Mr Pearson is simply par for the course from an organisation whose total sports coverage these days is little more than an hour of MOTD and three million hours of tennis: a sport watched by nobody and played by nobody outside the BBC's Home Counties (oh and one Scottish bloke who doesn't want to be English anyway).

Call it a hunch...but I doubt Mr C is going to tear up his committee just to appoint "Big" Nige.

It'll be Carvahal and someone else, possibly Mark Cooper...

Then that will be the most monumental feck up since Tricky said to Eric "I want to see you play on grass". Edited by Blue and white

Appointing ex players has worked so well in the past for us hasn't it?

He's too outspoken to stick in the job for anything more than a season and half and doubt that once he aired his views he first time he gets pee'd off that he'd last longer than that.

Wilkinson and Megson did alreyt.

Though an obvious error from the urchins at Sky it would have been wrong of me to tamper with it, even if not doing so would cause damage to my own reputation.

Honesty has to be my policy.

It's the only thing to keep a man sane on here.

We can't, but we will. lol. I mean, what chairman in his right mind would appoint someone who knows the Championship, got a team promoted from it, captained the club and lives in the city, when complete strangers who know nothing about English football are available to be signed up? lol. Anyway, we don't know yet if Pearson's teams can play on grass... lol.

I'm quite a fan of Pearson but let's just think this through.

Why would one Thai owner sack him for being directly/indirectly involved in bringing shame on his country and then another Thai owner go out an appoint him?

CC was never going to appoint NP anyway but there would be no logic or sense in him doing so after what went on during the LCFC tour

Nigel Pearson: Leicester boss's sacking linked to son's actions

8 hours ago From the sectionFootball

Nigel Pearson

Nigel Pearson won 140 of his 291 matches during two spells as Leicester City manager

Nigel Pearson's sacking by Leicester was linked to his son's role in a racist sex tape in the owners' homeland of Thailand, the BBC has learned.

Pearson's son James was one of three trainees dismissed by the club for their involvement in the tape.

The issue was the final straw in the deteriorating relationship between the owners and Pearson.

BBC Sport's Pat Murphy has learned the 51-year-old's sacking was "definitely not a football issue".

Murphy said the Thai owners acted because they were concerned about damage to the club's reputation, while a Leicester statement said the relationship between Pearson and the board was "no longer viable".

Murphy added: "There is no doubt that the image and the reputation of the club in their homeland of Thailand has been damaged by the behaviour of, among others, the manager's son James on the 'goodwill' tour to Thailand."

Pearson was involved in several high-profile incidents last term, including calling a journalist an "ostrich" and clashing with Crystal Palace's James McArthur, but ended the season in superb form as seven wins and a draw over their last nine games averted relegation from the Premier League.

Despite the success on the pitch, Murphy says the incident involving Pearson's son was "the straw broke the camel's back" for the club's billionaire owners, father and son Vichai and Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha.

Premier League table last nine games

After the incident with McArthur in February, media reports suggested Pearson had lost his job, but the club issued a statement saying said the rumours were "inaccurate and without foundation".

With the club then bottom of the Premier League, Pearson said he "had conversations" about his job but would not reveal the details.

Writing before BBC Sport learned further details surrounding Pearson's departure, former Leicester and England striker Gary Lineker criticised the club over the decision.

"So, after not only getting LCFC promoted but pulling off the most miraculous escape in PL history, Pearson is sacked," Lineker said on his Breathesport blog.

"Those who run football never cease to amaze with their stupidity."

The Match of the Day presenter also tweeted: "Can you kindly reinstate him like the last time you fired him?" referring to the confusion over Pearson's future that arose after the McCarthur incident.

Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher also weighed in, saying: "And people ask why the modern player chooses punditry."

A few journo's came out last night and said the pressers were clearly a front, behind the scenes he was polite, approachable and enjoyed dialogue with them

The fact that his side were getting slaughtered left, right and centre. He took all them pressure off them with his hostile answers in front of the cameras. He made all the headlines not his players

Worked a treat, if it was Jose people would be calling him a genius

If it's true that Pearson was sacked because of his son's involvement in the Thai sex tape - and the damage to the reputation of Leicester City in Thailand - there's no way that a Thai owner of SWFC would have anything to do with him. Especially at this time.

Megson is a good manager with a track record of promotions to the prem as is Pearson.

I'd be happy with either as manager but, given a choice I'd choose Pearson especially now that he is available.

Nowt wrong with that is there?

Yes, there is something wrong with that. We're not looking for a new manager.
