Hardly cutting edge journalism, is it? - Chansiri has the right to choose because he owns the club. - Chansiri's open to a few surprises. - The new way might work or it might not. - We should wait and see before judging. Innit! I don't thnk Biggsy has ever been associated with the words 'cutting edge journalism'. I'm sure he just cuts and pastes what he reads on here

matthefish2002
Alan Biggs is ok. Hardly going to get great works of art writing articles in the middle of summer about football in Sheffield.

peteowl
There's nothing wrong with the article. It is an opinion piece, not a piece of investigative journalism.
Orlando_Trustful
These local journalists are laughable. Everything within that article is either a general assumption or info he's probably got from here. They rarely ever find out new information, they don't seem to explore potential stories, nor do they ever get exclusive news to give us. Is that all their fault? Probably not, but as another poster suggested, he gets paid for this. I'd be embarrassed to submit such a nothing article as that.

peteowl
Just random words and hearsay I agree it's hardly going to win him a Pulitzer, but it's not meant to. One would presume that the Star has run into a brick wall trying to get credible information from the club, so instead it has commissioned Biggs to write a column offering his thoughts on the whole situation. Not facts, just opinions.

prowl
Newspapers are dying. It's death by a thousand cuts. The younger generation don't generally buy newspapers because they can access so many other news sources. It's just the older generation keeping buying a paper who are the market. Lower circulation figures mean lower advertising rates so it's a double whammy. The old newspaper hacks are going freelance and selling pieces to local TV, radio and whatever press will buy. Most journalism these days is regurgitation of press releases or lightweight puff pieces not worth reading. Biggs is OK compared to most.
