The younger generation don't generally buy newspapers because they can access so many other news sources. It's just the older generation keeping buying a paper who are the market. Lower circulation figures mean lower advertising rates so it's a double whammy. The old newspaper hacks are going freelance and selling pieces to local TV, radio and whatever press will buy. Most journalism these days is regurgitation of press releases or lightweight puff pieces not worth reading. Biggs is OK compared to most. If that's the case what on earth is the reason for the meltdown of the section of the fan base that is OT ? The lack of patience, compassion and understanding by some fans is beyond comprehension. The only valid point raised through the change was the one made by the person who raised a question of who pulled more weight on the committee and ultimately in all probability the reason for Grays departure. If it's true, as Biggs goes in for the conjecture of a further piece in the jig saw is to complete the framework, then the arrival of a fans favourite is not a whole lot to get excited about but personally I would love to see the like of Waddle, Sheridan or even Hirsty involved as CC's mouthpiece and assistant.
