makeover and levelling off

The river does not appear to have moved in the last 160 years. Although the Wednesdayite car park seems to have been built on a swamp.

Cue Monty Python quotes....

Dunsby's clip says 'Ancient river bed.' How far back is 'ancient' is anybody's guess.

BTW, only on owlstalk would you get geology on a football forum.

Question (serious): re renewal of season tickets on Kop. Could the club be re numbering from the third row now? ie those with front row tickets are now getting their seats 3 rows back from this years seat but it will still be the front row. (Hope that's clear, it makes sense in my head anyway).

Do we have anyone with a season ticket for any of the three topmost rows in the Kop? Have they been advised of any changes? And if so, why the flip would you have a season ticket all the way up there?

Feel for anyone with a season ticket in front of a post, if that were the case. 😄

Utah & Sage,

A 50 ft wall of water came down the Loxley - through Malin Bridge - Hillsborough and swept down towards town.

Debris and bodies were piled up in Hillsborough Park.

Owlerton was also swamped with 8" of mud.

Unless the banks of the Don were 50ft high where the Loxley takes an east turn & meets the Don, as Hillsborough Park, the ground and right up to Niagara is flat presumably water washed back for a few hundred yards?- there are several accounts of dramatic destruction and narrow escapes in Owlerton and Upper Owlerton.  Plenty on t'web about it.

Can't disagree with any of that, you'd imagine that if a huge mass of water came down the Loxley that all of the area that we now know as Penistone Road would have been instantly flooded due to the flatness of the area.
