Hansi Flick Barcelona bound?

Recommended Posts

Hope it's just paper talk.

"Barcelona are being closely linked with another former player, Rafa Marquez.

The former Mexican defender could replace his former teammate Xavi at the Camp Nou in the summer, though Spanish journalist Guillem Balague doesn’t think that it’ll so be straight forward.

Balague now believes that Barcelona sporting director Deco fancies Hansi Flick as a potential replacement for Xavi this summer."

Flick has been out of work since September last year when he left his post as the German national team boss, with the likes of Hoffenheim and Bayern Munich also on his managerial CV.

And of course, Flick was Danny Röhl‘s mentor.

Röhl was Flick’s no.2 at both Bayern Munich and in the German set up, with Flick attending a Sheffield Wednesday game earlier this season to watch his prodigy Röhl in action."

Bring no2 at Barcelona or head coach here in L1 with Chansiri as chairman. I know which most would pick.

Röhl has done a decent job here with an absolute fruitcake as a Chairman. He won't be short of suitors from elsewhere. He was desperate for a managerial position so Id be stunned if he took a number 2 job even if it's Barca. I imagine if he goes anywhere it'll be another club as manager.

I'd not take that rumour seriously.

Guillem Balague is highly respected in Spanish football circles.

Marquez, Xavi, Enrique, Guardiola ... Zidane

Imagine us giving Ryan Lowe, Heckingbottom, Bullen, Vaulks or Bannan a chance

These Spanish clubs clearly aren't as MASSIF as us

There are definitely background conversations between Flick and Barcelona.

That said, I can’t see Röhl going to be a #2, I’m more concerned about what would happen if Southampton fail to go up and they bin Russell Martin

Absolutely, more risk of losing him to a championship club than going back to been a no.2 again regardless of the club.

Surely the lure of the Bristol Street Motor Trader Cup mini-groups/Cup will keep the Barcelona wolves from the door?

Röhl wants to be a number 1 not two he's openly said this a number of times

there's more likely the chance we sign young Barcelona players on loan than Röhl go there as number 2 even if we are in league 1

if Röhl leaves it will be for a number 1 position

Wouldn't look very good for Röhl would it if he retreated back to been a number 2 only 6 months after taking the step up, nobody with ambitions in the game to be an elite manager would do that.
