Bruce sacked

Recommended Posts

I liked him here. He was just what we needed, a good fit and a good talker when we needed a bit of guidance. He couldn’t turn down Newcastle but he should have. This was the last time a club genuinely warmed to him and what he had to offer. He turned out to be full of BS and handled the move poorly, so it’s all deserved and he’s become a comedy character

I thought it was bad but an article in the athletic was damning. Here’s the highlights:

- Pieters was signed on the basis  Bruce's neighbour
- Thomas Asante being signed after going to watch Bruce's son in law
- Not knowing the five subs rule until a week before the season started
- The lack of preparation ahead of matches
- Signing players because we've either worked with them previously or just happen to know them
- Attempting to sign a player because he scored against us in a friendly.

that’s a **** show not a professional football club

Yes I would - in a heartbeat.

I never wanted Big Dave sacked all those years ago. I was genuinely gutted when we sacked him.

The bloke is a hero to me and countless others.

Not sure where the other lad is - not seen him on our forum either!

Who's the likely favourite?

I see Dyche and some guy who was previously at Olympiacos are the bookers front runners.

Any whispers of who it's likely to be?

Not sure to be honest - this club is an unprofessional mess so I have no idea what to expect.

We don't have the money to be paying compensation either so it has to be someone out of work.

I'd want Corberan personally.

Don't think Dyche will take the job here whilst his stock remains relatively high - he could easily get a lower end PL, top half Championship job when the panic sets in.

His last chance to have a meaningful impact was with us, and he sacked it off (understandably tbf) for the bright lights of the PL and Newcastle....but you suspect deep down he knew he was on to a hiding to nothing when going there and was probably surprised he lasted as long as he did.

Now, whatever reputation he had is largely in tatters and he's very much joined the football dinosaur club.

Unlucky, Mr Potato Head.
