"We're all mad we're insane no one takes the Leppings lane!"

Remember Watford brought a few coaches in the '70. When some of their fans asked the police which was their end they looked nonplussed and had to get on the radio to find out How to deal with them. They went in the triangle.

Chesterfield once brought a few on the Lepps, they were soon housed in the North.

Have we ever put away fans on the Kop?

I do remember when we played Middlesborough in last day decider in 1989 and some Middlesborough fans were on the Kop.

(Was about a month after the Hillsborough disaster and they allocation was only about 1,500 on the wing on the North Stand)

Think they were unofficially told to congregate on the Kids corner bit of the Kop and the Police would look after them.
Although I cant remember any animosity towards them only a bit of banter.

We sent them down that day ...I remember walking out taunting them lol 😆

Even the North stand was no safe haven, I vaguely remember several Plymouth fans deciding it was safer to jump over the front wall and on to the pitch, from where they were escorted out, after their presence in the North had been rumbled.

Same here.  They had a big Welsh flag up.

Also remember Grimsby being on there.

The coppers used to put them there, Wednesday still had a few who would take on anyone who turned up on the Leppings Lane End, I remember trouble with Chelsea and Derby on the Lep back in the early 80's in Division 2 seasons when Big Jack was still manager.

How did  they police  that ?   Did they get a  escort  from the turnstiles   if they didn't  I could imagine for the time  some  getting  hassle from our fans

Millwall got ran there. They had to be escorted one by one to the toilet by the police at half time.

They were kept back after the game until the Kop emptied.

That was what usually happened after the game.

Before KO the fans were brought in in dribs and drabs by the police. No toilet or food access for them. They rarely made the trip the following year.

Wouldn't say it was regular, was it?  Just a handful I thought.

Maybe not so much in the 80s but pretty regularly in the 70s when they didn't bring many;

Cambridge, Oxford, Wrexham, Grimsby (all throwing their hats in the air together I recall!) are 3 off the top of my head when I was standing on the Kop

Guest Hornsby

The police changed policy from Lep as easier  to get fans onto special buses back to station and coaches parked at speedway from  Kop.

I recall Pompey and Millwall in there, 200 each.

I remember it for other reasons, my mate ended up getting arrested after game old bill chased us up herries road and busted him.

We had gone in his car, I ended up having to get home to other side of city on bus, was well miffed chuffing buses lol.

Wrexham too

I can remember Wrexham being in there. There was about 15-20 of them. Something is telling me Watford as well from the early 80s.

Im also sure that in the ZDS match against the Blunts, they were in there also.

I was at that game and stood near them on the Kop. I was only a young in, but I don’t recall anyone having a go at them during the game.
