Massive fan of Westwood and never rated Wildsmith or - in particular - Dawson.

Having said that Westwood hasn’t played consistently well since 2016/17 except perhaps for a short stint under Bruce. For almost 4 seasons now he’s either been injured, banished or performed poorly. If Pulis does start with him I don’t think we should expect too much.

I can’t see us ever witnessing the Westwood of old. But Westwood at 90% is still our best option in my opinion.

I wouldn’t say it was a short stint under Bruce, it was from December until May so about half a season. And his stats were as good as at any point between 2014-17.

We won’t know whether he’s still got it until he plays. It’s Monks fault that he wasn’t brought back in when Dawson’s performance dropped just after Xmas last year.

People use his age against him but he’s 36.. looks in good shape still and other keepers have played until 40ish. It’s the lack of match sharpness that’s the biggest issue

Eh?

It doesn't go to show anything

It pretty much does.. if the issue was between the club and him then a change of manager wouldn’t make the blindest bit of difference to his situation and he’d still be sat at home. You even said this yourself on a loop saying he’ll never play for us again even if Monk is removed. Consistency please

You know this is true because.....................................................

Honestly why do people keep defending false positions.. we know this is true because there’s a video of him training with the first team. Odd that it’s happened the week after Monk goes if the instruction not to involve him came from above

Still not registered and can't be until January though, right?

Can be registered now apparantly.

No way Was Westwood dumped from squad on ability,  for me way he was dealt with was a failing of monk / Jos.

It's manager's job to manage different personalities / character's, way it has been dealt with including the fictitious phantom "injury" excuse is a sign of weak management, not something you can ever accuse pulis (or Bruce) of.

All it shows is that a new manager want's to look at all his options.................just as Bruce, Luhukay and Monk did.

Odd that he also trained at first with all previous managers.

No it really doesn’t just mean that. Look how many people posted BS about him being a bad egg and that he’ll never play again. People were saying it’s not even to do with his performances it’s something else.. implication being that the club won’t allow him to play. That’s blown out the water if a new manager picks him. Which lets be honest he will if he’s training as he’s head and shoulders above the other two

No harm in having  a look.

There's no way an experienced manager like Pulis would come in and not ask about Westwood.

Agreed,  Pulis probably dealt with that one early doors , can’t really see him allowing him to sit at home regardless of what’s gone on and wether he’s not available until January

Most managers give players a clean slate.

Pulis doing the same doesn't disprove anything. Pulis is just doing what any manager would.
