Adam Reach

Reach is one of our best players.

Every time a player goes off the boil, you can’t just farm them out and buy a ready made replacement.

Reach has done his best work in a Wednesday shirt from the right, cutting in on the left. He had a good understanding with fletcher and, offered exactly what we’re currently missing. His link up play was fantastic.

We won’t see him on the right for the remainder of the season. Murphy is playing well for starters but, who else plays left back?

Wouldn’t get millions for him now. When forestieri and reach were In goalscoring form and valued at £10m+ the fans wouldn’t have wanted to sell and so it goes...

Just don't sell players at the right time

He has been pretty woeful this season, though hes probably still up there with assists overall.

Today...he was horrific.

The penalty was beyond idiotic. Caught the wrong side and then drags down a bloke who had no chance of connecting with the ball.

Offers absolutely nothing

Sell for a couple million and move on

Agree but I don't think hese even worth that on current and pre covid form.

Looking a bit out of sorts at the moment? Yes

Offers absolutely nothing? Nonsense

Couple of million for him? No chance.

Reach has more assists than any other player apart from Bannan (who is on set pieces), he has over double the assists of Murphy and Harris. Murphy looks very good at the moment but Harris has completely fallen away, the guy hasn't set up a goal in 2020!

Going forward I do think we'll be most productive with Reach on the left and Murphy on the right. Reach anywhere but the left wing is a complete waste of time, he isn't a good enough footballer for the middle of the pitch and he always looks hapless there.

That said, his decision on the penalty was ridiculous and borderline unforgivable.

Am i watching the same player as some of our fans?. We are talking about the player who lost his player to give away a penalty, the same player who offered absolutely nothing today?. If a certain other player had played like that he would have been hammered, it just seems that no matter how bad or ineffective he is there is always an excuse playing him out of position, fans on his back, its the managers fault, and the classic he's rusty. Until our fans wise up and except he's a average championship player who once in a blue moon scores a wonder goal we will never move on. I will say in his defence he's not the only one

Assists

Bannan, Reach 7

Lee, Murphy, Harris 3

Iorfa, Fletcher, Nuhiu 2

Quite alarming how unproductive we are away from Bannan and Reach.

He’s been ‘off the boil’ for 2 years. That’s not being out of form, that’s just not being very good

I think you're misinterpreting excuses with perspective and facts. Unfortunately on this site a player is either Franz Beckenbauer or Ola Tidman, there's no room for nuance or grey areas, God forbid you point out the truth by saying a player provides X and Y but needs to improve. You'll be marched out by the pitch fork brigade.

Some are saying he offers 'nothing', yet he has got the joint top assists this season so far with Bannan despite being out for a chunk of time. So I think we can pop the claim he offers 'nothing' firmly in the bin.

However it's also true that he was awful for the penalty and has looked out of sorts recently.

Its his 1st game at lwb, if any of the 3 cb's had been dealing with their attacker for the pen, not sure this would be a thread, he put some crosses in, murphy skied the best 1.

Saying that he didnt seem to be fully  playing for the manager who has put him all over the pitch except in his best postion on the left resulting in him getting benched, so his confidence/motivation/fitness might be down.

He may also be thinking about his next club because yet again we've let a player with good resale approach 1 year left.

Last summer was the time to sell or extend, he will go for nothing next summer after another average season imo

Reach last season

Assists - 7 - Behind only Bannan

Goals - 9 - Behind only Joao (10) and Fletcher (11)

I'm getting the impression Monk isn't keen on him, just the impression I get.

You can compare it to other members of our poor squad, but in reality single digit stats are nothing to brag about

To confirm, you don't think 9 goals from a winger is an excellent return?
