Football has become boring

Recommended Posts

I don't think its boring but what I have noticed lately is that the standard as dropped, even Premier league isn't what it was a few years ago, apart from City and Liverpool rest are average to poor, proof is in that most clubs going down even with parachute money struggle in Championship.

No pal, they still come under the second sentence.

To put it in a nutshell, it is not football.

Amongst other things, i really don't want to watch a "supposed" set of grown men, roll around on the floor because someone has touched them.

I have more fun at the dentist.

Ah, yes there I agree.

Hate divers and players who go down like they’ve been tazered.

lots of things make wander about the integrity of the game - and lets not even start talking about VAR

Preston just gone 1-0 up at Charlton and now top the league

With their 7th penalty of the season!!!  7, Yes 7 pens in 15 matches !

How does one team get so many decisions their way ?!

Referees???

Their players keep getting fouled in the box.  It’s quite simple really.

Odubajo’s abomination of a performance at Deepdale gave them 2 penalties.  So we know ourselves that at least those 2 out of those 7 penalties were legitimate.

Which of the other 5 do you think were unfairly given?

poo refs or has someone at Sky or EFL or whatever  had a word with Refs association or whatever about how romantic it would be to see 'ol' North End in Prem

Tell me its not bent

im gonna see what odds they are for a pen in next match !

Do you honestly believe that?  Personally, I’ve got no time for daft baseless conspiracy theories.

That's why no one can be àrsed with the Fa Cup n League Cup anymore

There's no European qualification incentive to win them ...

It's all geared up for the big 4 in the Premier ...

You get in Europe if you win those you do know??

8th qualifying round of Europa league

Start the week after the end of the season to qualify ..

Thursday night matches

Sunday dinner time kick offs

Like Charlton away every week ....WTF:

Reyt incentive .......

As posted previous it's a big 4 biased system.

Unless you are a champions league stage failure in the likes of Celtic with the safety net of going into knockout stages of Europa Cup

It's a lot of risk with little reward ....

you said no European incentive - so that’s wrong

If you win it you now get into the champions league - so much more incentive than before

If this is going to turn into old clogging football was better at least factually back it up otherwise it’s just old people grumbling how things were better in the good old days

(no offence meant to you and blenkinsop)

This has been creeping in for a while. I lay the blame with trigger happy chairman who want the golden ticket to the premier at all costs as soon as possible meaning the managers know a couple of iffy results could result in their P45.

It leads to managers being ultra defensive trying to avoid defeat instead of trying to win the game first and foremost.

I blame sky tv with the obscene amount of money they are pumping into football which us unsustainable and has ruined the game, that and Jordan Rhodes

I've answered your post with the edit ...

I stick with my opinion there is no incentive .

Theres no money in the Europa League

Unless you win it ..

Then you get a wedge and a pre qualifying slot in the champions league.

ITS BIG 4 BIASED .....

you're right mate I ain't got all the evidence but you're  getting a bit too deep, just sayin it wee wees me off to point that as a fan for 50 years I don't really give a fizz no more, and don't tell me you've never been pissed off by some of the decisions we've seen by refs at hillsbro?!

maybe revisit the thread title and theme ?

I’ve thought this for a while now it’s losing its soul and the higher up the leagues you go the worse it seems to be, although I guess our noisy neighbours would disagree right now.

Unfortunately, and it makes me sick to say this, our noisy neighbours are brave and positive (extremely) well-coached, stick to basics and pass forward with purpose whenever possible.

They also have a well balanced and hungry squad.

No wonder they’re enjoying themselves

Score a goal and instead of celebrating you're looking for ref to see if he's got a finger in his ear.

how many celebrated when fletcher scored despite the flag being up against Wigan??? Most being the brain boxes that had the same argument I bet
