For all his 40 years of following the club, does he even know or care much about the actual football aspect? He seems more concerned about receiving attention than actually watching the game.

Yes his knowledge is immense go and have a word with him, he'll happily pass the time of day with you.

The standard week in week out “bell end” style routine never bothered me, in fact made me chuckle every so often

stood screaming “slag” over and over and threatening physical violence against a young (under 20) female steward for most of the first half, ignoring his mates who looked shocked and were trying to calm him down, then ignoring a steward who he must know who came and spent 10 mins trying to calm him down - all the while looking straight through them all to hurl abuse at the same young lass....

2 year ban is the least he deserved

I’m not trying to excuse it at all but I wonder what caused him to behave like that apart from the obvious booze.

Just seems for all his wind up antics a little out of character.

Yes but even the saner element need stewarding....fans could sit where they like, take booze into the stands,,smoke whatever and wherever they desire....you've got have stewards at any event when a large number of people turn up .

I am not sure fans ever took booze into the stands. For a start the Kop never sold it when it was terracing. Bottles and cans have long been banned. Used to see the odd hip flask perhaps

People need to get a grip here.

If it was anyone else people would rightfully be calling them a disgrace. Hurling abuse and threatening violence at young female stewards. Of course that vile bullying behaviour deserves a ban. Its scummy.

Those seeking to blame the stewards are a joke.

And the guy has had warnings before and been chucked out of away grounds. And have heard people pointing out moronic behaviour from him before. But its all ok cause he's a character..

Come back in two years and drop the attention seeking act.

Very harsh to ban him for two years over one meltdown. Not saying he deserves special treatment, but he is a hardcore fan who has spent gods knows how much following Wednesday over the years.

There are quite a lot of anonymous people that have also spend oodles of cash following their clubs, so he can’t get special treatment.

For people who are saying it’s harsh...

is this the same ‘super fan’ who was kicked out of Plymouth a few seasons back and then wasn’t allowed in the following season? The same bloke who wasn’t allowed in at Barnsley not long back? Thrown out at Rotherham and then a few days later kicks off at Hillsborough when the sensible thing would probably be to keep your head down and your mouth closed for a while

Others have already stated that it’s not the first disciplinary meeting that he has had with the club, so if that’s true then is it any real surprise that the club have taken this action?

Dunno if we could lose the stewards, but let's face it,some get a hi-vis jacket/vest and think they can do whatever they want.

Think we could lose two thirds of them just don't see them ever do anything.  To be fair they are usually very polite and helpful to a degree but more signage would solve most of the questions they get asked.

I think it's something every organisation has to come down on hard these days. Bullying, discrimination, gender issues are all at the top of the agenda and in the news constantly. The slightest hint of racial abuse is taken with the utmost seriousness ( Forestieri. I'm not for a moment saying there was any race issue with Tango)

If the club get a complaint they have to take it seriously and be seen to take action. If as others have said there were a lot of witnesses there is no way the club can avoid taking action. 2 year ban is actually light in some ways.

If the club are lax and appear to condone questionable behaviour the council might be tempted to shut the ground down, we all know they would love an excuse to do so.

I don't know Tango, never met him, he might be a great bloke but it looks like he's overstepped the wrong mark this time. Is it political correctness, maybe in some peoples eyes but it is one of the topical issues at present and I don't think the club dare ignore it.

When we played leeds at home quite a few years ago think we were winning 1-0 then ended up losing 2 maybe 3-1.

Just before the second I was hit by a bottle, it literally bounced off my head. This caused me to do a lot of 'pointing and shouting' and suddenly they scored the second. This caused me to get very animated and throw a strop so I headed towards the exit with my new found forehead lump. I was surrounded by two tall gangly somalian looking stewards who asked me to leave. I told them I already was no need to escort me. As I turned to walk up the stairs they proceeded to grab my legs so I lashed out at them causing another steward to come get involved and a random bloke stepped in to defend me and calm the situation. As he did I just quickly made my escape.

Im in no way a hooligan or a naughty boy but that little chain of circumstances caused me to act like one. Never liked stewards since lol
