Agree, we need to recruit the right manager first and foremost and for this season, Hector and 2 to 3 loans in and preferably a couple out. Time to balance the books.

Indeed.

The whole stadium rejig has given us a short term fix...but the only way we make good of it is by learning from the mistakes of the past.

Time to adopt a more pragmatic, long term approach. Yes, promotion should always be the aim, but not at the expense of the club going forward.

Buy and sell players at the right time. Don't spend money on people for the sake of it.

Perhaps I'm hoping for too much. Time will tell.

This more than anything........................Chansiri HAS to be more practical with his valuations, every club in the world, including Barca, Real Madrid etc have to sell at some time to help fund recruitment

We should have a few contracts expiring at the end of the season. Maybe more dead wood out the door. I can't remember who's contracts are up though.

I'd like to see how the 'loss' for last year was calculated, I wonder if we 'kitchen sinked' a few player valuations to make things look better going forward.

But letting contracts just end doesnt bring money in. We need to sell to bring money in, not just let them expire

I completely agree but if we can't shift players out any other way it stops them taking money out of the club if they aren't contributing much.

Thankfully we got rid of the worst culprits this year.

This is positive news and hopefully can start the manager and player recruitment in earnest.

It's better timing than last season, as it was lifted just before the Brentford away game in August; two games in. At least we've got a week to strengthen this time, and may have already lined these deals up - Hector?

Still no official announcement, but presumably they are dealing with the 'one or two' finer details before formally announcing it.

We can shift players out by not asking for crazy money

How do you make an official announcement that something is off, when it's never officially been on?

Didn’t announce when we went into embargo, haven’t announced coming out of it.

Perhaps it’s not as cut and dried as The Star are making out.

yes - you are technically correct. However, most commentators have concluded SWFC are under a soft embargo and indeed DC said himself is January 2019 it was inevitable:

https://www.swfc.co.uk/news/2019/january/dejphon-chansiri-statement/

To make our situation 100% clear, we are not under any kind of embargo right now. However, if our problems cannot be solved by March when we submit our accounts to the EFL, another soft embargo is inevitable. This will become a full embargo if again the problems cannot be solved at the end of the financial year.

The fact we didn't submit the accounts in March; asking for a delayed submission until July, implies we agreed to go under a soft embargo - not sure about the full embargo, which may have been averted by the negotiation of delaying the accounts. However, you are right that it doesn't appear to have been formally announced.

We did make an official announcement in August 2018 that we had come out of the soft embargo - not sure we had actually announced we'd gone into one in the first place?

Anyway, as I said, I expect we'll get a similar announcement to the one below:

https://www.swfc.co.uk/news/2018/august/club-statement/

Sheffield Wednesday are pleased to inform supporters that the current transfer embargo imposed by the EFL has been lifted with immediate effect.

The club has worked diligently alongside the EFL in a bid to ensure compliance with Profitability and Sustainability regulations.

We would like to place on record our thanks to the EFL Executive for the support and guidance given to Sheffield Wednesday surrounding this issue.

We would also like to thank our loyal fans for their continued support as we move forward together on and off the pitch.

Fair enough.
