Treatment of Penney

Play a young lad out of position for 45 minutes. Pull him of at half time. Superb man management toward a young player that Jos.

Yep - after great performances on the left hand side rightly earning him plaudits he now is being played centrally where he is completely ineffective.

bizarre management.

Yeah but he needed a rest as he can only play Saturday to Saturday. Clearly the extra week off is hard on him (according to Jos)

Penney was poor again. He’s better without Thorniley behind him, there seems to be an overuse of passing to him.

Thorniley did well again and will likely be drppped as usual

The amount of people that dont know he originally played LM and was moved to LB is remarkable lol

Even more remarkable given the amount of collective expertise we hold on here..... lol

Jos and football management don't belong in the same sentence.

Sorry, say what you like about Jos, but in this context Penney would not have got a start this season without Luhukay’s decision to select youngsters.  He has to take responsibility for his own performances, wherever (within reason) he’s played.

The position he played in under 18s has no bearing on what he should play in the championship.

He's not ready to be a winger at this level but he had been impressive as a left back.

Awfully exposed at LB in the championship, the lads not quite ready I’m afraid

There were no wingers out there tonight.

bannan reach and Penney were all across the middle of the pitch just like against United the other week.

either he can’t play left wing because he’s constantly too Central - or he’s being told to tuck in.

either way if you watched that game and thought he was playing left wing you’re wrong I’m afraid.

To be honest Penny and Baker were very poor. Only Thorniley out of the young uns is good enough at the moment.

The substitution was the right call and if Penny can't handle that then he needs to change career.

Behave , Baker had a decent game

Just because he's a young player and not scapegoated doesn't mean he can't be critisiced for today.

Out of position or not, he was still struggling with playing 5 yard passes as well as other basics and keeping him on could have cost us the game

He was very poor today, even though I am in the Jos out camp, taking him off was the right decision, he was having a bad game, its not poor man management, its facts
