I've reluctantly paid £36 at Leeds before (the last time that it wasn't a live Sky game, and I went there loads of times over the years before they started ripping off the fans with the prices) and grudgingly at Barnsley this season (really hope they go down), and just felt dirty when I think of how much entertainment I could have got instead from, for example, a blu ray boxset of the Sopranos for the same price as 90 minutes of a boring football match. I don't care that we charge away fans similar, it still doesn't make it alright for our fans who didn't set those prices to be ripped off at other grounds as well as to watch our team play at home - if I had to pay £39 every game to watch Wednesday play I wouldn't go to Hillsborough either, and I say that as a loyal fan who's barely missed a home game in over 37 years (not missed one at all in the last 23 years) and a season ticket holder since 1981. Bad enough that my season ticket price has increased by 37% in the last few years when for probably 17 out of the last 20 years the overall entertainment value has been rubbish. Ive been to Millwall away a few times..including the 70's...Ive been to Bramall lane more times than I care to remember...same with Leeds, Wolves, 'Boro...(which used to be no school trip) I can now only just afford a season ticket to watch Wednesday....Leeds or any other club for £39?..Give over... I couldn't ante up for a season of those POTG at Hillsborough...I'm sure there are thousands in the same boat. Leeds were amongst the first clubs to bring in these swingeing prices...and we gave them a right round of f.ooks for it.
