Rob Staton says it's a no-go with Hirst

Pity really as with the injuries we have now he'd be in the first team squad...may have even had his chance by now...

Stupid on both sides that they can't talk and try and sort something out

If he does go to Leicester I can't see him getting remotely near their first team for years

Kelen Iheanacho can't and he cost 30 million!  No way young Hirst cracks that first team.

my lads mate was Hirst's age at Leicester and a cracking striker who was on the fringe of the first team and captain of the under 23's if I remember that bit correctly   was on on £3 grand per week in the prem ,I would be very surprised if Hirst  got more than that should he go to them

As far as I read,

Hirst refused a new contract so we refuse to play him in the U18s and U23's.  It is that simple!

Hirst has every right to leave.

Him and his dad need to fizz right off , we as a club are bigger than them  , Hirsty senior needs to grow a pair

He said he had 5 or 6 u/23 players training with squad and was looking at them to see if they could help out. May not be exact words but he certainly said looking at them because of current issues. think it was just over half way through. Thought good news.

Deffo. I liked CC but never felt he was interested in giving young players a chance.

I saw U18s for first time in a while on Sat. Good standard, good football and 2/3 who could well do something in time

Thought he was a very decent upgrade on Nuhiu at the time.

Well, that's not saying much lol.

His age and surely his PL-fortified wage demands are what gave me pause.

Would have rather seen us sign a younger striker just coming into his own, a Sam Winnall from Barnsley perhaps?

Instead, we get Winnall when there's an absolute logjam at striker.

Fletcher was an odd signing from the get go.  Not required whatsoever.

And then to add Jordan Rhodes?

I was only referring to ages

but Fletcher I could understand to an extent, decent in the air, added a target man to our ranks (upgrade on Nuhiu), something different

Rhodes didn't make sense, especially after Winnall. At all.

He's got Doyen Global printed on his Twitter profile, so if we want less to do with them, it's better he goes too... and to finally put this case to rest, whatever each party may have said or done as part of negotiations. We have parts of the story, Hirst could've been good addition to our team, but if circumstances won't see that happen, good luck to him elsewhere. Right now it's just depressing we've got a academy prospect who's hardly playing or training and wasting his talent away...

Have to say I'm surprised he hasn't gone already. Given the situation I was expecting his move to be all lined up and ready to go on the 1st January

Yeah me too, maybe he’s not in quite as much demand as we’re lead to believe or maybe those that want him have actually not offered as high a wage as us?

Rob Staton just said on t'radio that it's not gonna happen

Said George Hirst situation has come to a point where the player isn't playing, he's not signed a new contract, and is training occasionally with the youth team

It's a no win situation

Said he doesn't believe there will be a meeting between the Hirsts and the new CEO

But what Rob Staton says means absolutely nothing it's just his opinion, The new manager would be mad not to want to look at young Hirsty, see what he can do and give him a chance, it's a new chapter everyone starts with a clean slate and all that jazz.

All those saying Hirst thinks he worth more than he is are wrong.......he doesn't need to think, what he is worth is a matter of fact and it's whatever other clubs are offering him.

So if, for example, Leicester think he's worth £10k a week and we think and offer him £3k a week, the fact is that he is worth £10k a week and would be advised to take that.

its basic economics, just a shame that there's been so much animosity going around about it
