To say the defending for the second goal was schoolboyesque would be an injustice to an under 7. Lionel Fessi Posted November 22, 2017 Share Posted November 22, 2017 Hunt, Lees & Loovens were all absolutely awful....Loovens so so lucky to not get sent off after his challenge early on and Hunt/Lees looked exhausted, made 2 big individual errors each, rotation at the weekend is needed IMO. Butterfield looked shattered too offered nothing, Lee was equally poor when he came on, Reach/Wallace were passengers for the most part and when they did get the ball provided no quality apart from Reach's cross for Nuhiu's goal at the very end. Rhodes/Hooper never really got involved in anything meaningful apart from the occasional 1 2 or winning a header. Completely flat performance, defensively all over the place and another night that highlighted how one dimensional we are going forward, no high tempo, no urgency, no excitement, so bitterly disappointing again. BB was once again the only positive, as he has been all season and surely if we don't go up this year he'll be off to another promotion rival always manages to stand out weather we play good or bad. In hindsight rotating the team would have been a good shout, players who are usually so reliable looked tired and far too sloppy on the ball...we offered very very little going forward once again and would be going home with 0 points if it wasn't for plan B actually working for once. (Get as many strikers on the pitch as possible and keep hoofing it into the box) Not feeling confident about Saturday, away vs another underachieving team with lots of pace and lethal on the break who are due a good run of form. #DaretoNuhiu Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Good bottle to smash the penalty home. Thought Fox was actually our best defender (as mentioned above), but obviously made way as part of a tactical change. Most of the rest- very underwhelming. Lees making stupid errors for both goals, Hunt well underpar along with Butterfield, Wallace, Rhodes and Reach. Its rare to see a centre half with such a poor understanding of the game for the second goal. The team was woefully out of position when he put the ball out he just needed to go over and pick the ball up and jog down the touchline with it, show a bit of gamesmanship maybe even take a booking and let players get back in position loovens 5 Is showing his age now but is still sadly our best defender and at least he is one of the few players that knows when to commit a foul fox 5 No complaints nothing special but not responsible for any of the mistakes Wallace 4 Needs replacing offers very little now bannan 6 Our best player as usual would like to see a bit more commitment in the tackle at times but has been consistently the best player this season butterfield 4 meh, if ever a player summed up a team butterfield is the epitome of a carlos player, short, slow, enjoys a tidy backwards pass is terrified of a tackle reach 5 an enigma has certainly showed quality this season and there is undoubtedly a player in him but hes an absolute coward of a footballer at times Rhodes 2 Its hard to rate him he either takes a chance when presented or he doesn't the rest of the game he jogs politely near any balls played up to him hooper 6 Along with bannan one of our only consistent performers has no understanding with rhodes sadly needs to play with fletcher or nuhiu fletcher 4 Gets involved and is more willing to do the physical side than rhodes but for the money he has little quality. The cross field pass back into our own half from an attacking position to set up their goal was really something special, obviously carlos must have reminded him not to make forward passes before he came on lee 5 Not his best position but showed more than wallace there and was obviously ashamed of neshing out of the tackle that nearly lead to a goal for bristol at the weekend as he actually tried to make a few crunching tackles Nuhiu 6 Showed more hold up play in the few minutes he was on than rhodes has in two games, pleased for him good header for the goal and one of the few players we still have who playing for the club means more than a decent paycheck Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
