Hope some people take a look at themselves now and see his performances have been effected by this injury.

Should praise him for trying to play and put his body on the line for Sheffield Wednesday.

I think it's about time we as fans were told the truth when it comes to injuries like this. it's unfair to say a player is not giving there all and wants a move here and there when in truth they have picked up a serious injury and it's affecting there performances and mental stability. we deserve the truth as loyal paying fans

Fans don't deserve any confidential medical information

It's within the players rights to not let anybody know - even the club

But it's a given in football that players will usually waive their right to confidentiality in most cases

Ex physio Paul Smith advised surgery last March but others at club insisted on other peoples opinions. :duntmatter:

Of course they insist on others opinions

Players get opinions from high level orthopaedic specialists all the time

My guess is that it was a condition that could have immediate surgery but also could respond to conservative rehab/managment

And with the critical point of the season the decision was taken to try the non-surgical approach and keep him available

But the OP says it's a different injury anyway - some injuries require surgery and some don't - maybe the new injury is one that has no alternative to surgery?
