By all means stick up for Nando, but why on earth you have to do it by describing good players like Rhodes, Fletcher and Hooper as plodders is beyond me.

Not saying they're not good players. Booth was a good player, despite being a plodder.

But the DiCanios and Forestieri's are rare. Brilliant, exciting game changers, but with a bit of an attitude.

Baffles how quickly our fans turn against these types.

I haven't turned against FF.

I have turned against the guy who picks him so clearly out of position.

That said, I am also very unhappy that FF himself can't see how much more of a player he is when he plays wide.

Sell Rhodes, keep FF.

Sell neither and stop f****n banging on about FFP (not you by the way).

It's like a nod to the old days, counting the penny jar and huddling round a one bar fire and muttering "not for likes of us".

It's like the worried well on here.

Nothing genuine to worry about so let's all pretend to be accountants and worry about FFP and play at being DC.

F**k selling our main players, just go for it.

If we get promoted it is all suddenly completely irrelevant.

If we don't and we get an embargo (IF we get an embargo, highly unlikely under DC), then we don't sign any more players till it's lifted.  Well if we're on about selling players now, (which presumably means we have a surplus), why would we be worried about not being able to sign more players in the near future.

Maybe DCs ambitions will prove to outstrip the locals ambitions who seem to want to keep some money left over for the gas meter.

Sorry, FF would be a massive loss talentwise.  We have NO one that's as capable of a box to box barrage as him.  Our top offensive threat by a wide margin.

Get rid of the gaffer before we unload anyone, let alone Rhodes and FF.

This squad is hamstrung by a bizarre stubbornness towards a dinosaur formation. Would love to see what would happen with the chains taken off for once.

Just to clarify I don't want to sell Rhodes because I don't rate him, it's simply because I didn't feel we needed him.

I prefer Winnall. I genuinely think he offers more as a player and would score just as often.

Not like you to talk nonesense.

Why do we need 10m to get FFP sorted ?

I would happily offload some of the fringe players who will reduce the wage bill rather than arguably two of our most gifted players. If Hunt and Reach can keep putting balls across the 6-yard box and Boyd/Wallace can do the same then I back Rhodes to start banging them in for fun.

I just don't see how people can be under the impression Rhodes is magically going to start "banging them in for fun" when we see nothing of the sort out there.

The only thing Rhodes seems to be able to do "for fun" out there on the pitch that I've seen is get caught offside.

I'll be shocked if Rhodes hits double digit goals, while Fletcher and Hooper both should get there easily if they stay healthy.  Hopefully we get something out of him and can find him some service, but in his last year's and current form he shouldn't be anywhere near the starting XI.

Shouldn't you be celebrating a Blue Jay's series win against the Yankees ? (Despite a poor season)

lol

You're entitled to your opinion but with decent service Rhodes will score. Simple.

If we can get £15m for these 2 - and spend £5m on a centre half - I'd be tempted to

Stick £10m back in the bank and get our FFP sorted.

We'd still have an embrassment of riches up front with Hooper, Fletcher, Winnall, and Nuhiu. And with Boyd and Reach able to cover wing duties - we wouldn't really be missing much

Forestieri is still my favourite current player by quite a distance

Looks to me like you are on the wind up. Your favourite player by some distance wouldn't be missed much if sold?

If your favourite player by some distance wouldn't be missed much what do all the rest that you don't like as much offer? We must be terrible!

The other day you were lamenting how we don't look after our flair players, the ones capable of moments of magic, properly.

The second he refused to travel to Norwich he should have gone. I said this from day one.

The club has to control its highly paid employees not the other way around.

We would have got £12-14m then and sent a message to the other players that we won't have disruptive influences at our club.

Doesn't matter how good or who the player is. Everyone is replaceable.

There are clearly underlying issues. The whole situation has been badly managed IMO.

Agree with all this apart from the 12-14m bit. That's ridiculous. Nobody would be paying that for an unsettled player

Not on the wind up at all. They are probably our biggest assets, and can easily fetch enough to help us strengthen the team in other areas, while not weakening it too much in areas we are overrun with talent

He was a player in demand who had had an excellent season. With prices going crazy for goalscorers we could have got that type of money.

We now have a player worth £5-6m tops given his last 12 months.
