Watford set to sign another defender from Ivory Coast. Maybe will finally free up Pudil to come here. Hope we get a move on with signings, need to build on last years excellent season. You'd have though with us being so close and DC experiencing that amazing atmosphere at Wembley he would really back CC to bring in the quality we need. Maybe we will. Just slower than i expected on the transfer front.

I expected Pudil to be here by now I must admit. He was already well down the pecking order  prior to the arrival of God knows how many defenders there. They must be asking for silly money still, and with seemingly no-one else in for I'm beginning to wonder if it will happen at all.

As usual there will be complications in the transfer. He was on a long contract with Watford so I imagine that is where there is a hold up and plus he knows the club and set up very well he will just be able to slot back in nicely when he does arrive, hopefully he's kept himself fit but I don't think that'll be a problem seeing as he's only just come back from the Euros a few weeks ago.

Not only the £25 million for Wijnaldum, Everton and Juventus are battling over Sissoko and will pay £35 million for him. Top spot is quite simply off the table.

Nothing is certain pal, admittedly they will have one of the strongest squads but who knows, some may struggle to adapt to the Championship which in my opinion is a lot more physical than the PL.

Except, they're signing numerous players with champ experience and pedigree.

Only good thing that can hopefully come out of Newcastle's "demise" is parachute payments are scrapped. Especially to long term Premier league clubs. Any team receiving £100m a season should have a number of sellable assets to stay afloat in the championship.

Wolves takeover by foreign investors may be a success if they get a quick promotion but there is a chance it could go horribly wrong like at Leeds, Forest, Blackburn among others.

All these clubs are desperate for Premier League football but there are signs their foreign owners are fast losing patience and hope.

It has worked for some small clubs like Bournemouth and Watford......but there are only 20 places at the top table and won't be any more than that. The Premier League will make sure it is an "exclusive" club with even a reduction of teams possible to 18 to fall in line with Spain, Germany and Italy.

With only 18 teams in the PL, Arsene Wenger & Co can have their "mid-winter break".

Leeds and Forest were taken in by chancers with little to no actual coin.

Blackburn, though, that's the scary proposition.  Venkys have money, just very little idea on how to run a football club.

I agree .

With the money they are raking in by selling their big assets, there is no reason why Newcastle need parachute payments . They can easily manage without them. The whole thing is a joke.
