I believe it is the case you cannot appeal against a yellow card unless it is a case of mistaken identity. The yellow cards can be rescinded, often when a ref realises and admits a mistake and withdraws it. There may be other reasons yellows get rescinded. It is the appeal by the club/player that is not allowed for a yellow. Except for mistaken identity. Oh and misapplication of the laws.

Possibly made up as they go along

if someone has been sent off it shouldn't matter if it was 2 yellows or straight red an injustice has been done and it needs reversing . without fessi we are mid table agree or don't I think he is outstanding . we prob would have got a point at brighton and easy 3pts against Rotherham cud lose upto 3points from this idiot of a ref that I can tell u will cost us playoffs . carlos and rest of staff have been very diplomatic upto now if justice aint served they should risk getting hit with a fine . can u imagine if that was fat evans or Warnock after game ref would have needed a police escort out of ground.

Are there enough similarities here for us to build a case...?

"Referee Rob Styles has rescinded the yellow card shown to Chelsea's Didier Drogba for simulation," said the FA on Monday.

"The referee states that after reviewing the incident on video, he is satisifed that there was no attempt by the player to deceive him."

Chelsea were incensed when Styles booked Ivory Coast striker Drogba instead of awarding them a penalty in the 80th minute of the goalless draw.

Captain John Terry said: "It was a bad decision by the referee."

Even Aston Villa manager David O'Leary thought his side were fortunate not to have conceded a spot-kick.

The referee has to be big enough to admit the mistake. It would appear that Rob Styles was. Who knows about this Robinson chap. If he doesn't he can't be made to.

Would be as easy as this...  lol

"Referee Tim Robinson has rescinded the yellow card shown to Sheffield Wednesday's Fernando Foresteri for simulation," said the FA on Monday.

"The referee states that after reviewing the incident on video, he is satisifed that there was no attempt by the player to deceive him."

Sheffield Wednesday were incensed when Robinson booked the striker Foresteri instead of awarding them a free kick in the 90th minute of the goalless draw.

Captain Tom Lees said: "It was a bad decision by the referee."

Centre half Dawson comented in a post match interview he thought he was 'fortunate' and that he had 'gotten away with one'

Even Hull manager Steve Bruce thought his side were fortunate not to have conceded a free kick callng the decision by Robinson Ludicrous.

So in the Didier Drogba case, who managed to persuaded the ref to review the incident on video and give comment? If the club can't do it can I get tango to pop round to his house tonight with a couple of mates and tempt him into a cosy little review?

I suspect that the FA may just be aware that this has caused a bit of a kerfuffle and should be asking Mr Robinson shortly to have a little look if they haven't already.

Maybe that does happen. Maybe it is happening. I hope he is a big enough man to admit the obvious mistake. I think everyone would be a winner (except Brighton :-) )

that yellow card is gonna stand. its too late now the referee has refused to admit his mistake.

it should be very embarrassing for him, but as the rules stand it's out of the FA's hands to do anything about it. Maybe there'll be a ruke change, but at the very earliest this ould be at the start of next season. So due to our collective injustices, i propose we accept Forestieri's ban aslong as we get to take the penalty for the foul on Kieran Lee the week before. Fair's fair

Somebody tell Ante Drogba didn't get sent off please....getting painful now

Why are you so determined to make a point against SWFC? Did you spell your name wrong? Should it be P_I_G?

Arthur Norman got a yellow card rescinded which meant that he did not have to serve a ban. Is that good enough for you?

Sorry, but unless people know for certain and can back it up, why keep coming up with objections to something which would quite clearly be in our favour?

If there have been any rule changes than I cannot understand why we would not have a very good case and if we have launched an appeal as Alan Biggs says, then surely the club believes that we have a good case too, so why would so many S_W_F_C fans call the club for doing what is right? Whether or not the card gets quashed, rescinded, or scrubbed is up to the FA and therefore depends on which way the wind blows to a certain extent, but should be done fairly if the FA wants to be seen to be acting responsibly and precedents have been set for rescinding yellow cards, for rescinding one of a pair of yellow cards and for rescinding a yellow card for not diving.

what does it matter if drogba didn't get sent off?

A yellow card was rescinded. If FF gets one rescinded that he isn't banned.

Well if we can appeal, then it would be done straight away as its cast iron certainty to be successful.

Everyone has come out on our favour because we can't appeal, they did on the TV, pundits, ex refs literally everyone has sympathy.

If we could simply appeal why has not one person come out and said "surely they will appeal"?
