mrrodge
I'm sorry but all the tweets from this website are embarrassing. He's been in prison yet the tweets are like he's a soldier returning from Afghanistan. The guy was a useless footballer before he went to prison, he'll be useless now he's out. But lets tweet about him scoring the winner against a game that we're not even guaranteed of playing yet!! Ultimate face palm moment You could look at the reverse side of this and the fact some people are acting like he is a murderer or rapist and saying that they dont want him anywhere near our club. Fact is he was young, stupid, went out on the wee wee a bit too much in Sheffield where he is bound to attract trouble. He got into a few scuffles and it cost him dearly. Hopefully prison has straightened his head and it gets him out of the 'I'm Gary Madine, I'll do what I want' attitude. Best of luck Gary. Hope it works out

Eaton_Swfc
Do you know what. I was one of the loudest shouting for him to be sacked, contracts torn up etc, but sod it. He's a young lad, made a mistake, got into a nightclub brawl and punched someone, not the worst crime in the world. He's done his time, and he needs the Wednesday family behind him, if we back this lad he might just repay us, he may well not, but we have to try. Yeah i agree with you pal. We've (me and you) discussed this matter on a number of occasions and we have differing opinions. In a way, I hope you prove me wrong as that will mean he takes his chance. My issue on this are the tweets above. I think its a very one sided view on what Wednesday fans think. Some are for the idea and are glad he's back. There are many people out there who dont want him in a wednesday shirt again. For a Sheffield Wednesday fans forum twitter account to tweet the things that have been tweeted isn't right. In my opinion of course.

MotherGoose
Still think he should have been sacked when found guilty - but he's done his time, is still contracted to us, and hopefully will have grown up a bit. Welcome back Gary, time to start banging the goals in again. 100% Kivo. He's getting a massive second chance that most young men in his position will never get. oh_weds_we_love_you
The doubters who believe Madine won't change mention the issues he had before. What hasn't happened with Madine before is receiving a custodial sentence and almost being declared bankrupt. I'm guessing that will give 95% of people a kick up the backside. So, let us wait and see first before tarnishing him with the Marlon King bush, eh?
AgileBeastt
Some people going off like he's killed someone. Like someone said Mattock hit someone in a club. Reda chained a bird to a radiator. Ranger has been accused of rape, guilty of assault and all sorts and we took him with open arms. Yeah he's had abit of trouble but how many people can say they havn't been a couple of scraps. I hope he stays cause he's still got alot to offer.

In my opinion of course. You're always going to get folk that treat footballers like hero's though, whatever the circumstance is. I mean look at that lot supporting Ched Evans. I generally find most of our fans' tweets to footballers cringe worthy. I'm excited about his return to football, as i think he'll be another good option for us. I want to seem him in the current team, with the current tactics and morale. I won't stand waving welcome back flags though. ruscol85
It's going to take him a month at least before he's anywhere near ready for a match. Weight training in the nick / avoiding getting buggered by the bigger boys and playing football professionally are two very different things. And people want him straight back in? How about a little bit of respect for the forwards we have at the club who have played in recent weeks. Why let thing jumped up little mug walk straight back into the fold? If he's willing to get his head down, work hard, and bide his time before playing then fine. Personally think he needs a good slap off someone a lot bigger to show him he's not the big man he obviously thinks he is.

Chris_B_SWFC
Why shouldn't the fans be behind him? Footballers return to playing football after much more serious crimes. Why should Gary Madine be denied the same opportunity for a comparatively lesser offence? I'm not condoning what he did in any way, but he has served his time now and hopefully matured through his time inside. Welcome back Gary Madine. darklord
really not sure how I feel about this. On the one hand he's served his time and deserves his chance and part of me is excited about the possibility of him coming good under the new management (and we need goals) But Part of me can't help but think of Ched Evans and how hypocritical it feels to be condemming United fans for wanting him back while we (or some of us anyway) welcome Gary back with open arms. I know what Gary did isn't the same as what Ched did but a crme is a crime and you cant apply protocol to one and not the other. What I do know is either way I hope he has leanrt his lesson. many of us would give our right arm to have the career of a pro footballer. I just hope he doesnt throw it away
