Leaping Lannys Perm
Just looked it up on Wikipedia. Why the hell were the attendances so low? No game drew over 14,000.
owls about that
It was used by the hooligan element of both clubs as an excuse to go cause trouble, think it was at one of these games that weeny got his skull smashed in with a lump of concrete. sheffield_dave
Might be our only chance of playing them for a while.
1867Heaven
Wasn't it rekindled for the 93' semi? And played once or twice after?
Vernster
I know it'll never happen because of the potential for trouble. But wouldn't it be nice if such a match could be played at the Don Valley Stadium, a neutral ground for both clubs ,guarenteed to sell out, and the proceeds help keep Don Valley from closing down. Which I personally don't want to see happen

KivoOwl
They weren't happy when we put our reserves out one year and threw the toys out of the pram (we still beat them)
sheffieldblue
Last time it was played, we put a reserve team out at the sty. We lost 4-1. It had already lost its status, so it was dropped from the calendar
The undertaker
Think your right kivo. Carnt remember who was our manager then but seem to remember him not wanting to put the first team out for the dirty blades to break they're legs in pre-season. I was at that match, and I'm sure it was the season when we ended the first month of the season top of the league. Then we played this game , and Pleat chose to play the reserves instead of the first team. We all turned up expecting to see the first team anilate Utd, but it turned out to be the other way round
TrickyTrev
I remember the pigs were so poor in this that we even beat them with Chris Woods up front.
