theowlsman
When Di Canio refers to value, he means Tesco Value. The lady at Tescos told Di Canio he needn't wait in the queue for a cashier, he could scan Coke himself at self service. It caused a bit of a stir when Giles then appeared from behind the cat food, took his shoes and socks off, and proceeded to move his foot under the laser beam. In his defence, Di Canio isn't the brightest, and his physio did tell him Coke needed to be scanned urgently. He came up at 99p by the way. Blueblood
Reda has played when injured. So has [is?] Bothroyd. Perhaps some management teams rely on pre-match injections more than others?... Obviously Swindon thought the same

mrgund
In his book he lists a mean pasta dish. I tried cooking it once but it didn't work. Who knew you had to boil the pasta??
Maple Staple
Dont know if anyone as seen this article yet. GILES Coke has returned to Sheffield Wednesday for treatment on a longstanding foot injury which had not been properly identified prior to his loan move to Swindon Town in August. The midfielder has made five appearances for the Robins since joining until January but a recent scan on the sole of one of his feet has revealed inflammation which manager Paolo Di Canio said has been troubling the 26-year-old for several months. Sole destroying? <grabs coat :-)> Edited October 5, 2012 by Maple Staple

Guest OutandOutOwl
Is he having a laugh? We probably still pay some of his wages whilst he is there. Surely this outweighs the cost of 1 scan.

CB31
Even reading that I struggle to completely follow what Di Canio says in a flowing manner. The interview he gave about Foderingham a few weeks ago may as well have been in Italian: ''Mourinho... Champions League?.... No, Wes.... LEAGUE ONE (and repeat).'' bigdan2003
DAVE Jones has had a dig at Paolo Di Canio after an outburst by the Swindon manager and former Owls star over an injury to Giles Coke. The midfield player is on loan to the Robins until January but has returned to Sheffield to have a foot condition assessed. Di Canio has said that Coke had the problem when he was with the Owls. The Italian claimed that “nobody checked properly†on the extent of it when he was at Hillsborough. Referring to his return to Wednesday, Di Canio said: “They should look after him in a proper way. “We did already work with him to help him. “I hope they are going to do the same because even if he may not be a part of their plan he is a Sheffield Wednesday player. “I’m not accusing Sheffield Wednesday, because they thought it was a simple inflammation and now they can see the real picture - thanks to us - what problem he’s got.†But Jones told The Star: “It would have been nice to get a phone call from him [Di Canio]. Then he would have had his facts put straight.†The Owls boss would not go into detail but it seems clear that the club regard Di Canio’s comments as inaccurate and it is understood they feel his remarks amount to unwarranted criticism of their highly-rated medical department.
