Guest TonyOwl88
I made 39 as a cautious prediction. Factored in losses against a few crappy teams, and a few disappointing draws.... but still hit the target. Not sure why people are so miserable. We're going strong this year and I've enjoyed it more than any other season in my memory... (not old enough to remember the really good times). Guest Dazzlertron
We have 10 games at home out of the 18 and i am going to stick my neck out and say i am confident that we won't lose any of those. I certainly wouldn't expect to lose 2 of those 10. So going on a basis we lose 1 win 7 and draw 2 of the home games alone that's 23 points there... factor in the 8 away games which even in a disastrous scenario where we lost 3 drew 1 and won 4 with those 13 points that makes the 36 points overall. I think that is more than achievable especially given the fact we have played all the top 7 teams away already (except Huddersfield of course)
Guest Distraught!
I want to concentrate just on just getting six points from the next two to reach 60 points after 30 games. I have always looked at things in blocks of ten games. Four points from the next two games will be OK but I see us taking all six to get back on the two points a game trail. Even with the poor and inconsistent form that we have shown in games 21 to 30, we are still on course if we keep our nerve.
Guest bigblue
This is all well and good, but do the same with United's and Huddersfield's remaining fixtures. On paper, the only games than any of us should be dropping points in, are those against each other. So we might achieve the 2 pts per game average, and end up finishing 4th!!! Rhodes is still at the Udders, so they start 2-0 up every game. United now have Hoskins, Beattie and She-Said-No as their frontline options. So plenty of goals there too. If it was just about us, I'd feel pretty confident; but it's not!
Daz
Interesting to see a mini league table of the top 6 (10 games max) Charlton P7 W4 D2 L1 Points 14/21 - to play MKD (h), Stev (h), Hudds (a) Hudders P5 W2 D2 L1 Points 8/15 - to play Charlton (h), Weds (h), Utd (h), MKD (h), Stev (a) Weds P7 W1 D4 L2 Points 7/21 - to play Utd (h), Stev (h), Hudds (a) United P6 W1 D1 L4 Points 4/18 - to play Stev (h), Hudds (a), Weds (a), MKD (a) MKD P7 W1 D3 L3 Points 6/21 - to play Utd (h), Hudds (a), Charlton (a) Stev P6 W4 D0 L2 Points 12/18 - to play Hudds (h), Charlton (a), Weds (a), Utd (a) Charlton and Stevenage have the best records so far. Huddersfield have to play 4 of the top 6 at home and 1 away. United and Stevenage have to play 3 of the top 6 away and 1 of the top 6 at home. Wednesday and Charlton have to play 2 of the top 6 at home and 1 away. Comparatively speaking, I'd rather be in Charlton's and our shoes compared to the rest. If we can win our above 3 games it doesn't half do harm to our fellow contenders. I'm liking our position more and more - but what a battle it promises to be. Exciting times! shandypants
Of course we can. 6 weeks ago we entered what we all believed was our toughest period of the season with a 2 points per game average - if we beat Yeovil and Exeter (two winable games) we are back on that average. Freshfish
I'm also confident that GM's signings and the couple of loans that will come in will be far more effective than if we had bought players in on inflated prices or on wages that would have created division in the squad.... I would say 37 to 39 points is a realistic total, but I AM forever an optimist.

Time will tell but last night at MK I didn't see a team with anything like the penetration required to make top two. Bostock looked promising though.
