We've got a squad the equal of anything in this division (including Autos) but we have a manager who has not the foggiest how to use it properly. I have no doubt we will lose a few this summer, need to move on the manager pretty quick so he can sort the wheat from the chaff. I just hope we can keep hold of the likes of Lee and Lees. Dooogs Posted May 18, 2017 Share Posted May 18, 2017 We either need two classic wingers with pace and crossing ability (and for them to be played regularly) OR Alternatively, we need a set of forwards used to playing with their backs to goal and specialising in knock-downs. Personally, I'd much rather have the former but our current problem is having strikers and wide midfielders in the team who don't play together effectively. Either him or Bannan drop so deep they are the closest player to Westwood, I think its because they are both capable of pinging the ball pretty accurately, but 9 times out of 10 we just go sideways anyhow. I do do stand by what I've been saying though in that you put the ball in the box Fletcher, Hooper, Winnall and Rhodes will all score given the service. We don't have a central midfield pairing that would allow us to play with two wingers playing wide. Without the wingers tucking in, Lee and Bannan are two lightweight, we'd be overrun. Hutchinson and Lee would give us more bite, but would it be creative enough Ditto Hutchinson and Bannan. If we are going to play 4-4-2, then we need to get different midfield options, as well as wingers and a centre back. Maybe even a decent strike partner who brings the best out of Hooper or Rhodes. I agree we are lightweight in midfield, but this is the fault of Carlos, no one else. He brought in player capable of pressing high, then stopped them pressing high.
