Yes rejected the bid but as far as I am aware the contract offer was much lower than that of a striker with a market value of two million pounds.

Meh. Who cares. He’s not our player and hasn’t been for years. 1

No way will anyone be paying anywhere near that fee. He won't even get near Gary Madine's goals figures.

g-owls
Hirst was here at the wrong time of his career. At the time he was scoring goals for the reserves and representing England at youth level, we had Hooper, Fletcher, Rhodes and Forestieri at the club and a totally different outlook to where we are now. Had he appeared on the scene whilst this manager was around it might have been a different story. A victim of timing.

He was, and I know I'm going over old ground, but we definitely did not need to sign Winnall and Rhodes that January, especially permanently. I think Hirst would have got a look in over that next couple of years due to how injury prone Fletcher, Forestieri and Hooper were.

Devonstrix
You never know, Neil might be right and George could return. I think Ipswich will need better than him or Moore to score goals in the PL.

adelphi1867
I'd have more respect for him if he had told the club he wasn't going to sign a new contract before Leicester put in their bid. We might have made a bit of money from him then

Anyway, it is History now, 6-7 years ago.
