Didnt we reject there bid  and offer him a new  contract .......

Yes rejected the bid but as far as I am aware the contract offer was much lower than that of a striker with a market value of two million pounds.

Remember all those naysayers who tried convincing those that DO know football that George Hirst would never play professional football again and if he did it would be in the lower leagues / non league etc etc?

Meh. Who cares. He’s not our player and hasn’t been for years.

Hirst was here at the wrong time of his career.

At the time he was scoring goals for the reserves and representing England at youth level, we had Hooper, Fletcher, Rhodes and Forestieri at the club and a totally different outlook to where we are now.

Had he appeared on the scene whilst this manager was around it might have been a different story.

A victim of timing.

100% this plus he's injury prone.

No way will anyone be paying anywhere near that fee.

He won't even get near Gary Madine's goals figures.

*adds Orlando to the list of naysayers who have been proven wrong by George*

He was, and I know I'm going over old ground, but we definitely did not need to sign Winnall and Rhodes that January, especially permanently. I think Hirst would have got a look in over that next couple of years due to how injury prone Fletcher, Forestieri and Hooper were.

I'd have more respect for him if he had told the club he wasn't going to sign a new contract before Leicester put in their bid.

We might have made a bit of money from him then

That’s Chansiris mismanagement right there

I am no fan of Daftjon, and I do not want an argument with you, you seem to know more about it than most, but how is it Daftjons fault if Hirst decided he was not going to sign a new contract till after the bid was withdrawn, as appears to be the case?.

Anyway, it is History now, 6-7 years ago.
