Umeeksk
I spent a good few minutes there working out what on earth "UTMP" was and whether it was "Up The Mighty Pumpkins" Glad to hear he's doing well. He's obviously a quality, quality midfielder for League One.

Ever the pessimist
I love Röhl, but I’m convinced he’s got rid of Byers for his sending off at PNE

TrickyTrev
It doesn’t surprise me, he was head and shoulders above most at that level last season. Would’ve been handy for us next season in League 1.
BRADDO
It's another crazy DC decision to let Byers go and refuse Gregory a move. Crackers! 5

HopefulOwl
I was going to post something similar a few weeks ago that he was doing well at Blackpool... i knew it would be met with the usual comparison quotes but i firmly believe he should be in our midfield... as good a servant Palmer has been he is just not good enough for our midfield... Windass spent most of the first half playing one-twos with Bannan to appear to be involved and did nothing else.... Byers is a clever player and would influence, break up and contribute more than those two. 4
Rev Owl
I liked Byers. I think he should be playing for us regularly.
OneEightSixSeven
Shouldn’t have been let go with our lack of defensive midfield options.
HopefulOwl
https://avftt.co.uk/index.php?threads/byers.52392/ He's clearly very influential for them and has been the main reason they are doing well.
SiJ
At that level, he's one of the best midfielders in the division. No idea why he seemed to struggle so much this season. Perhaps the extra physicality of the Championship caught him out, or he was dragged down with the general crapness of what has happened throughout much of this season. Needless to say, I'd have rather we kept hold of him, particularly as we never got in a replacement. Edited April 10 by SiJ
stevie snerklebox
If he had hit the Championship playing at the same level that he was at prior to his season ending injury last year, then he would still be here, but he was half the player when he came back from injury and never recaptured his form sadly.
