TheSlicer
I’d take him as a striker. or left back.
4evaowl
He wouldn’t come here - he left one basket case club in Derby already.
best77
Mentioned this the other day. A few said no chance but lacked detail as to why. Will walk into a job. Probs Stoke if they decide to get rid of Neil.

matthefish2002
If he wasn't such a big name would people even mention him? Nothing impossible in football these days but if Rooney took over get ready for who should be manager discussions again just after Xmas.

CircleSeven
I’d be more surprised if he came here than anything. He doesn’t strike me as a man to join a bottom of the league club with a batshît crazy owner and no money to spend. Rooney’s own net worth is significantly higher than DCs. Can’t imagine how DC would get on trying to lord it over Wayne.

alanharper
So what's the attraction of having Rooney as manager, other than the fact that he was a big name as a player? He's done nothing as a coach. First season at Derby they'd have been relegated but for our points deduction, second season at Derby they were actually relegated. Then 2 seasons at DC in which they've failed to reach the playoffs. Not a sparkling CV is it? 6

Sheffieldrams
Don't bother with Wayne Rooney. He was not a good manager but he was a good figurehead who brought publicity to our club. He could not avoid relegation. We had a transfer embargo on us almost all the time he was with us. He jumped ship after relegation to league 1. Liam Rosenier was overlooked but was key to our survival and brought in some good players with no budget. Rooney will want to spend money but if Chanseri has shut his wallet what chance has any new manager of getting Wednesday out of trouble? From an outsider looking in who is going to score the goals you need to survive?
Devonstrix
If Rooney came here, we could kiss goodbye to any remote chance of Vardy finishing his career at S6. Imagine Coleen and Rebekagghh in the players lounge.
Leaping Lannys Perm
I do not understand what could possibly appeal about Rooney as a manager. He's failed consistently as a manager so far. Another Lampard. There are hundreds of failed managers out there to choose from. Why go with the most expensive option?
