To be fair we did play St Mirren at home one year lol

True! Although to be fair I think that was a last minute thing because we hadn't arranged a friendly for that last weekend before the season started so we had to take what we could get.

On same OS announcement it says ticket details for Harrogate Town friendly will be announced early next week.

We play them next Friday so Postman Pat is going to have to be very quick delivering the tickets.

These must be collection only now. No way post gets those out in time.

Sheff Utd are playing 3 Yorkshire Derbies as well as games against Lincoln Mansfield and Burton not glamour ties but decent standard teams.

Could we not have organised a game against Chessy, Donny or even Sheff Utd, they have a training camp in Portugal too!!!

It just feels that yet again there is little or no structure in place at the club in key areas.

It's good that it's been stipulated that under 5's must be accompanied

Last thing we want is the OCS Nursery Squad rocking up in their burberry nappies and stone island dummies and taking over the gaff

Shaking their rattles around.

Or it's exactly what the manager wants.

Because it's literally just about getting fit, not overloading fixtures so fans can have a nice afternoon out in the sunshine.

Just a thought.

its a practice match .......it's a game against a team that we can match up to so should have plenty of the ball and probably around  18 players will get some minutes into getting up to speed  for the pompey game  .......what would be the point of playing a decent prem team  where we'd hardly get the ball to try things .

... and at £15 will most likely be played in a near-empty stadium

Wigan at home is a dull fixture at the best of times, hardly curtain-raiser material a week before the start of a new season

The club should be looking to make up for the loss of Owls In The Park once again and offer free admission

Try and get as many fans in the ground as possible and create a carnival atmosphere that might encourage many of them

to return for the Portsmouth game

Who knows, it might even make for an exciting match

It's away

And we'll probably still have nearly as many fans there as Wigan

We need decent level teams to get match fitness and sharpness.

Playing 3 games over 4 weeks then going into the season and having to play 7 or 8 games in 4 weeks.

you just know we are going to pick up injuries because the players are not match fit, and drop points because they are not match sharp.

Preseason results dont matter, its the games in the legs and with our current schedule we are going to be under cooked come the first game of the season. In comparison Portsmouth are playing 7 first team friendlies and a training camp in Spain.
