York_Owl
Think we signed him after missing out on Gordon Strachan (what a signing he would have been). Decent enough player maybe not quite quick enough to be really dangerous out wide. Was in the side that hammered Coventry 4-1 away which was a great day out that season.

Ash77
Was very good at cov but broke his leg badly iirc, ron signed for 250k knowing we needed a winger, but he had lost a good yard and didn't work out. Was in side that got relegated on goal difference to luton despite having sheridan, palmer, hirst, atkinson, nillson so must have been worse than i remembered! We lacked a good attacking winger that season 3

We lacked a good attacking winger that season You have to set the relegation in the context of years of not financially backing Wilkinson and a disastrous spell with Eustace as manager. Sheridan, Nilsson and King didn’t join until part way through that season by which time we had made a terrible start to the season that ultimately we never really recovered from.

Lord Snooty
Remember thinking he'd be a canny signing. Sometimes things just don't work out. Thought he was very good for Coventry

Nowt to do with losing something like 8 out of the last nine games then?
Lord Snooty
To be honest, we were still playing quite well.

It was the terrible ending to the season that did us. We were easily safe March going into April. 2

Yes eustace used to leave hirst on bench it was awful, ron somehow kept us up that season. Next season we went down, sheridan and king signed early november after a bad start and it was looking promising. Then we blew it losing 5 out of the 6 final games somehow including to qpr and southampton, went down on 40pts so unlucky, but won the league cup next season so every cloud etc! We did recover though, it was a very bad end to the season which got us relegated.

I remember going to the QPR game and we absolutely battered them but just couldn’t score.
