THIS THURSDAY - Jim McCalliog at New Barrack Tavern

Recommended Posts

Wow! That’s a blast from the past…he looks well, must be in his 80’s.

met him and big John Ritchie on Chapel walk when I was about 11.

“Alreyt Jim, alreyt John”, says I.

“Hello, young un”, says Jim.

“Do you know them? “ says mother when we’d passed.

Bet he doesn’t remember me though😟

No 1966 FA Cup Final photo amongst his chosen four book cover pics.  I'd want a discount.

I’ve never been convinced that Jim thinks as fondly of us as we do of him.

I think his career elsewhere is what his book will be about

Obviously I could be wrong, so Sorry Jim if I am

I just always remember him being interviewed by Match of the Day when he scored one of the semi goals that beat Chelsea and he seemed gutted about beating his former club

Crikey! I would have guessed much older,  I’m 65 now so when we bumped into him on Chapel Walk he was only 20ish…I have to say he se3med a lot older at the time..but then I was looking up at him.

Big John Ritchie was just a hazy blur way up in the clouds to me.

Also found this which I don’t think I’ve ever seen before.

Ford, Ellis, Mobley, Springett and Megson I think.

Thanks for these.  I've not seen either before and I also reckon it's Don Megson on the right.
