Lots of early optimism with a popular (with players) manager bringing in lots of new recruits and getting rid of a poor bunch of highly paid failures. Like then, it wasn’t long before that optimism turned toxic through under performance and the manager wasn’t able to show signs he could blend the new players into an effective team. The players finished up getting the manager sacked but showed under a new manager that they had the ability. Bannans missed header was the best chance Wednesday had all afternoon, they almost got a goal back with a goal mouth scramble.
