Darren Moore apologises to Owls fans

Recommended Posts

I’ve said in another thread that the season does remind me of the 2004/5 season. Lots of early optimism with a popular (with players) manager bringing in lots of new recruits and getting rid of a poor bunch of highly paid failures.

Like then, it wasn’t long before that optimism turned toxic through under performance and the manager wasn’t able to show signs he could blend the new players into an effective team. The players finished up getting the manager sacked but showed under a new manager that they had the ability.

These players can’t be outplayed in the way they were today.

There'll be now hiding place anyway if it comes to that. They'll have a couple of games yet before it turns toxic, so much easier to put the effort in of their own accord.

Several players have talked the talk about winning the league, they've now got to walk the walk. Talk is cheap.

Anymore performances like today and it will be the walk of shame.

If you're gonna make statements about winning the league, you can't be expected to escape criticism for a performance like today's whatever time of year it is. It's not like we've really pounded anybody yet to actually justify such comments either.

It’s SEPTEMBER!!!! 🤣🤣🤣

Players are still getting to know each other

The manager is still sussing out his best starting eleven

We are two points off second place

Plymouth put away their chances and looked quite tidy. Bannans missed header was the best chance Wednesday had all afternoon, they almost got a goal back with a goal mouth scramble. A lot of credit should be given to the many Wednesday fans who packed the away end and sang there songs throughout the game
