Seeing so many people repeating the Chairmans idiotic statement from last week - especially in relation to who we can attract as a manager.

Yes we ARE a big club. Certainly in the top 20% of ALL clubs in the UK

Don't let the fact we have been run into the ground so appallingly by a series of dreadful Chairmen and boards in the last 20 years (including him) cloud your judgement.

This club has massively underachieved in the 21st century. But don't for one minute let your Chairman convince you to lower your expectations of the club and what it is capable of. That would be letting him off the hook and allowing him to continue the under achievement.

STOP doing his work for him and hammering home the message we arent a big club. We are one of the biggest in the country.

In the age of TV money, our size and history means next to nothing unfortunately.

Small clubs can survive in bottom half of premier league now for significant numbers of years.

Commercially and in the modern world, those 2 clubs are easily above us

Not talking about revenue or turnover, talking about how the club's are seen in general by the neutral and others outside of the club's themselves.

And the quality of candidates will reflect that.

Some good , experienced ones in frame plus up and comers like Lowe.

But your right. We need someone of Bruce's stature and experience.

Pearson,  if fit.

Me: We're in the top 20% of clubs in this country

Owlstalk: We're nowhere near as big as Man Utd or Arsenal - therefore you are wrong.

Have a guess what any manager will say when he's in his press conference unveiling

Similarly ask any manager who is asked if they'd consider the job and hear what they say too

Then also listen to what every single pundit says about us

The only person in football saying we're not a big club is the chairman for some bizarre reason

Even more bizarre when he's about to appoint a manager and tell them we should be getting promoted this season

We are a big club based on tradition, & based on support (although to be fair our average home attendances have been on the decline). If we are talking about being big financially, or big on current potential, then absolutely not...Hillsborough is a Managers graveyard, which is why someone like Chris Hughton wouldn't touch us with a barge pole the last time we were in search of a new Head Coach.  Kid yourselves on if you need to, but the only tangible thing big about us at the moment is the mess we are in. Sadly our next Managerial appointment is likely to reflect that.

We are and we aren’t in my opinion. Big clubs don’t spend 20+ years outside the top flight. We are a big club in Championship terms but that’s it these days I’m afraid. We have a big support, it’s our biggest asset, but stadium, facilities, squad wise we are miles away from being a big club.

Depends who you are comparing us to.

Would say clubs I used to think we were bigger then as a kid like Leicester, Southampton and Wolves have left us far behind now.

But would say we as big as anyone outside the Premier League.

It doesn’t take long to get to that stage though

just right management - if we got it right we would blow them all out of the water in terms of potential of this club

But we are a mediocre club, no bigger than Norwich, Ipswich, Sunderland, Bristol city, Coventry, Birmingham and of course, Dem Blunts.

We have won only 1 trophy in nearly 90 years, our highest ave season's attendance is 33K.

We are, however, a good stepping stone for managers and players.
