Sadly we lag behind numerous other clubs in selling and reinvesting in bargains or young talent but we've made some smart signings in the last few windows. To progress further we may have to start selling our most valuable players whilst they're in demand and reinvesting into the team. So who would you categorise at present as “our most valuable players” - apart from Iorfa and possibly Bannan and Reach, we don’t have established players with resale value. We picked up Kachunga and Harris on free transfers, can’t see them ever commanding a transfer fee. Dele Bashiru and Izzy Brown aren’t ours to sell Windass cost £500k which might well prove to be good value - wouldn’t want to sell him at present though. Dont disagree in principle with what you’re saying though - but it probably needs a few years to evolve into a workable policy, as youngsters start to develop into established first team players.

I was mostly referring to Iorfa, has Guru and some other fans said we shouldn't sell him but the majority of us in the past bemoaned not selling and reinvesting sensibly in the past. Which is part of why we find ourselves playing catch up with a points deduction, after past embargoes and trying to circumvent P&S. Iorfa looks to be the most astute signing we've made in a fair while, we need to bring in more players like Iorfa, Luongo and FDB, etc with some resale value and to start selling and reinvesting into the team. Hopefully some of the recent signings or youngsters could help with that approach in the future. That's the best way for us to progress at this level and to compete with clubs that have been doing that for years and parachute payment clubs but it will take time. WalthamOwl
Sounds like he did quite well last season for Cardiff. Surprised they haven’t been in again for him yet.

Some of their fans want him back but I think they have to trim their wage bill before bringing in any more players and sounds like a number 10 or winger is their main area they want to strengthen. Let’s sell what best players we have and give some of the cash to Paxo and GM to work their magic.

Or let's scour the bargain bin for some gems if we're lucky or considering we still need a few more players at least and quality costs. Let's not sell any of our key players if we get any favourable offers and let's strain P&S limits again

And we blocked Hirst's route to the first team. Hopefully we don't overload areas and lose another decent prospect like Hunt or Shaw.

We've signed Bashiru. He is ours to sell. Sorry just seen this already pointed out. Edited September 30, 2020 by BonesyOwl
