Frozen out players.

I think if it was the first time this had happened, then I might have a degree more sympathy.

As it is, this is the second time that Hutchinson and Westwood have seemingly managed to pi55 off, undermine a manager enough that they've got themselves banished from the first team.

Judging by some of the replies, it appears that some of our fans can only think about the short term.

Yeah, they're good player, have been good servants, but you can't have professionals (talented or not) undermining manager after manager.

Talking about allowing a toxic culture to breed within the club.

They've been banished by two managers now.

So say if Monk goes in 6 months and a new bloke comes in. Could those all those sticking up Hutch, Westwood etc., honestly sit there and say this wouldn't happen again?

We need a clearout and have done for a few years.

You keep saying they've undermined the manager. Can you spell out what they've done exactly?

There's obviously been a fallout between Hutchinson and Monk at least, possibly Westwood and Monk too. But it hardly follows that they've been undermining him.

Monk has thrown his cards all in with the 3 forwards in January. For various obvious reasons, I hope he wins the pot.

He now has FF, Wickham, Cruz and hopefully Fletcher will be back to play his part.  Windass if he finds his mojo may well add to the goal tally.

On paper it looks healthy than before the transfer window.

A number of players have already been told they won’t be getting contracts.

This was always going to be a problem for us. If if you don’t directly tell them, I think they get the drift when we aren’t talking to them about one.

Let’s be honest, we shouldn’t be renewing many at all.

They’ve actually been told.

If their agents are earning their money they will have knocking on somebody’s door, it’s Wednesday so we don’t actually know whose door, and you can only say ‘ we don’t know’ for so long.

Don’t think other clubs will be any different.

This is now the time when Monk can be assessed in my opinion, since Fletcher has been missing from the starting lineup for the past 8 games we’ve only won twice, but he only had some weaker strikers to pick in his place

He’s now brought in 3-4 attacking players to fill the void of Fletcher’s absence and so there shouldn’t really be any excuses for us not to return to the winning ways we had before Christmas.  Dropping players like Hutch and Westwood is bold and Monk will need his squad to deliver on the pitch to make these decisions seem like good moves

Said the same today, with the additions of Wickham, Forestieri, Windass & Da Cruz to choose from we need to be seeing a better attacking display from Monk’s side tomorrow than the last 8 games.

Monk started very well up to Christmas and then the injuries to Fletcher seems to have derailed us. Tomorrow will help show if the problem has mainly been the absence of Fletcher or if it’s more deep rooted than that.

Why the hell would he keep playea zombie like Nuihi? What does it take to get frozen out at the insane asylum?

Obviously players aren't frozen out because they don't have any ability or aren't trying because that accounts for over half of his current crop of cronies

Isn't it strange that all of those who aren't frozen out are the flops who have failed year after year. He still keeps playing the flops who have consistently shown since the new owner came that they aren't good enough.

There's a tight caucus of players who seem to control the who team and dictate team policy

Monk has continued the peculiar wednesday tradition of refusing to play new signings. He's continued to continue with Sheffield wednesday peculiar policy of refusing to promote from the reserves. Please don't telly me that Borukov is worse that nuhi. Its impossible

And yet he won't play him

Monk is on record as saying that many of the team aren't trying. And yet he still plays them and doesn't freeze out those whom he admits aren't pulling their weight.

So why are these players not frozen out and why are those whom have never had a decent chance to show what they can do, frozen out?

Everyone keeps saying how Bannan is one of the best players in the league. If he's so good how come nobody else wants him? A player of such reputed quality would surely attract interest from other teams. And yet nobody whatsoever has ever wanted him. What does that tell you? In fact nobody wants any of our players who aren't frozen out.

Lets face it they are all proven in one thing. They are proven flops.

Is it any wonder that wednesday struggled to sign anymore decent in the transfer window?

We've got a crock from Palace who has scored 8 goals in five years and a player who couldn't even get a game with a team who are in the relegation places

It's obvious that agents have told the decent young talent to keep well clear of bedlam.

Oh god. The pigs are back.

Yes. And not Monks fault we haven't sold anyone.

Really? That seems quite a bold :/ reckless step with 16 games to go.

Correct, I've no problem with getting rid of all out of contract players, but with 16 games to go to shut  Hutch out and only be left with pelupessy isn't the best management decision.

why has Monk not sat everyone down together to get everyones feedback and then done the same individually to lay the law down/issuing warnings where necessary and letting everyone know where they stand.

How do you know he hasn’t? How do you know there have been any transgressions that would warrant a warning under employment law?

Was this during the Transfer window? May make sense to encourage some to look elsewhere if they know they’re not likely to have contracts renewed.

This season, last season and next season were always going to be difficult and have huge amounts of player turnover. Hopefully we learn from it and get better at regularly moving players on before bringing in more.

Sick of Dawson costing us stupid goals like that today

That's why we should play our best players, it's why Bruce did, and why we went into the summer with enthusiasm

Carry on defending Dawson and the manager while we drop down the league
