I remember it dragging on for a bit. Southampton were in the cup and wanted to keep him a bit longer. In the end all turned out well.

I was 15 at the time and was my first real hero...

This, the saga went on for several weeks and I was working away in Preston at the time who just happened to be playing Saints in the cup (6th round IIRC) at Deepdale. So I went along to watch and Curran played that night so I got an early first glimpse!

When he was on it, it was sheer magic. No other words needed.

Best £100,000 I've seen spent by the Wednesday worth it for Boxing Day and that stunner at the Lane and a wonderful contribution to the 1979/80 promotion campaign and return to the second divsision. What a star Terry Curran.

Did anyone have that video 101 great goals which was MOTD from 1964 - 1987 and TC, s goal wasn't included but the pigs had 2 included, from then I knew for some reason the football establishment had it against Wednesday

Made Kenworthy look like a right muppet which to us old ones was there Billy Sharp of the time, Lol

Sat in the Bramall Lane upper right above TC arching round and then curling the shot in...a move almost in a perfect semicircle from left hand corner flag to right hand corner of the net.

Beautiful.
