£20 vs Brum

Selling Birmingham out or as near as benefits all supporters.

If you are a Wednesday fan who was happy to pay way over the odds to go to Wembley why would you not go for £20 at 3pm on a Saturday

Because THOUSANDS go for the day out..a fair few who have no nor never had any intention of going to Hillsborough...even if it was free entry

Not so fast mate..That happens at EVERY club....

What you have to look at at the minute is...Thats not going to happen is it?

We have to build for a rather uncertain future, I see your arguments , I understand your arguments...but when you CAN'T promise days like Wembley...or even days like Wycombe,

When you have little to offer, you have to offer a little more.

We will see next season, when the best players have gone, the season ticket update is minimal..another 6 months of these prices....

Not a one off game....The big picture

The point is

The grounds half empty

The point is we are in a relegation battle and need the support

The point is Season ticket holders were hoping for promotion and it's turned pear shaped yet they aren't demanding discounts for that, why should they grumble at a fan who got in for a decent price when otherwise they would simply be looking at an empty seat.

We have had this before on here

cant remember season ticket holders complaining

Bought a season ticket for 30 year's and the deciding factor as never been hoping for promotion

I like my own seat and no hassle sorting tickets out and personally I would prefer looking at an empty seat to certain proportion of our fanbase

Surely they can work out ticket pricing for both ST and POTG supporters at levels that maximise attendance and revenue??

Although £20 is too low it does demonstrate the level of demand that exists if the pricing can be structured properly.

( looking forward to going to my first match in yonks, taking my Lad too )

At circa £40 there will always be lots of empty seats...not good for the club, fans, atmosphere or income.

It really isn't rocket science, there must be a few clubs with successful pricing models that we could use as a blueprint ?

They haven’t been doing, they’ve been sat at home

Your post always make me laugh when it comes to other fans that don’t share your status.

You do realise people have lives and will be socialising with friends, spending time with their family, getting pissed off shoppig with their Mrs and plenty of other things.

I suppose I can’t speak for everyone, but I’m going to assume that nearly everyone hasn’t been sat at home when Wednesday play waiting patiently for the club to feed them a couple of cheap ticket offers to attend the odd game.

People have lives, it’s not just Sheffield Wednesday. Please get off your high horse, stop criticising them and respect their choice not to attend as often as you do.

I hope you enjoy the Birmingham game. I myself am tempted to attend now there’s been a change and it’s a reasonably priced match.

It works out about £24 a match where I sit I think, Kop will be a lot cheaper.

Its not really the point though is it.

Season ticket holders have put their money upfront to allow this big discount on match day prices. For it to be scrubbed out on a whim doesn’t send out the right message or incentive for future sales.

If it sells out against Birmingham i’d back it till the end of the season and reimburse season ticket holders some way.

Its up to stay aways to prove to DC cheaper tickets can work. The stay aways have sadly failed on previous occasions to the detriment of us all.

But as a true fan surely you want to help the club as much as possible by putting in more money than others.

Seriously though I completely agree with you. You either have to keep potg ticket prices higher than what the most expensive seats were in whatever stand. Or somehow reimburse season ticket holders if you went below that amount.

It would devalue the faith and support season ticket holders have shown unfortunately. There needs to be some incentive to keep buying season tickets and I think season ticket holders obviously deserve a discount.

I really hope the crowd is good against brum although I doubt it .

Im sure many are like me now , they have simply got out the habit of going. As much as I am disgusted with chansiris pricing , I’m lucky enough to be able to afford to go should I choose , I just choose not to.

On that note , I’m having a ‘berate chansiri’ free day from now on today, Merry Xmas to one and all  garymegson:carlosswfc::luhukay:WTF:

I think the debate is irrelavant because;

"Going to Wembley" means your doing something right, fans are excited. It's unmissable. (Generally warmer weather also)

"Going to Hillsborough" when you've won 1 in 11, isn't going to cause a scramble for tickets, no matter how cheap. (Freezing)

Although alot seemed to click in that victory against Preston and I've got my tickets for New Years Day already. Positive signs.

People will always moan about ticket prices. Same people will always find excuses when ticket prices are reduced to the level they've campaigned for. Just how it is and always will be.

With a new manager at the helm though and it being a bank holiday, I'd hope we'd be able to shift a few. Anything below 28k would be disappointing. I'd expect 3k from Brum, who are on a roll and took 4500 to Wigan on Saturday.

I don't agree.

I'd like to go more but refuse point blank to be exploited.

If ticket prices were reasonable I would go more (have done so in the past)

Brim looks a virtual sell out.

I can easily afford to go at full price but I refuse to pay it because my morals won't allow it

Completely out of the habit now so can't be bothered on 29th

That said I hope there's 30K there to show Chansiri that crowds are dire because of prices as well as our recent awful brand of football.

But there will be less of the next generation because so many have been excluded and felt alienated.

I assume many people myself never would have began going if it wasn’t for attending the game with their fathers/other family members.

Surely you can see that it is detrimental to the long term growth of the club and its fan base.

In regards to the above post:

I don’t know about @bladeshater seeing these disgusting POTG prices (obviously excluding this rare £20 offer in an unattractive fixture), as detrimental.

The I’m Alright Jacks made up their mind a long time ago.  Divide and conquer tactics that has blinded so many, just because we scraped into the playoffs a few seasons ago.  How short-sighted; I feel sorry for the clapping seals.

Scraped into the play offs ,think it was a tad more convincing than a scrape and , we lost to hudds May 2017 , hardly a few seasons ago is it ?.

Don't feel sorry for me pal

Will be great to see the hundreds of families new years day taking advantage of the cheap prices it's the others who find another excuse I have no time for
