Bluesteel
Going back to 2015 the cup win at Newcastle and again against Arsenal seemed to build confidence around the place. The villa result has seemingly done the same as a benchmark and if we beat Leeds it would only strengthen that.
sagesse
Friday will be an interesting barometer as some have already said. Given how it's shaping up - looking way into the future - next April's fixtures look tasty... Villa (H) Forest (H) Leeds (A) Norwich (A) Bristol (H) PNE (A)
TodwickOwl
This league is bang average - can see that already Every year everyone says well X Y and Z are coming down and that’s only going to make it stronger Leeds are top and were bang average last year - they’ve had a few injuries and struggled straight away, they’ve got a bare 11 and will fall away if that’s not sorted - playoffs at best. Wigan , Derby and Blades are all in the top 6 at the moment - they’ll not last the distance, not a prayer - by Christmas they’ll fall away Even Forest who have spent top dollar looked bang average - if we fielded our best side we would’ve got a result So who’s good enough to be top 6? Top 2 will most likely be West Brom and Boro. The other 4 places - totally up for grabs, but it’ll not be any of them teams mentioned above, with their thin squads. Swansea and Stoke are struggling - one can’t score, the other is leaking goals left right and centre. Brentford and Bristol - are they really to be feared? We had a nightmare against one with some strange team selection that day from Jos. If we cant finish in the top 6 with the squad we have there is something seriously wrong - we’ve added some much needed strength into CB/DM position with Hector and we’ve got some quality to come back through injury. Its more their for the taking than ever - with a settled side and some surprises (Matias, Penney) having a good season so far - we should be top 4.

Villa (H) Forest (H) Leeds (A) Norwich (A) Bristol (H) PNE (A) Pick up points against Villa, Leeds and Forest to guarantee our place in the top 6. Failing that, easy 3 points at Norwich straight after when Agent Rhodes scores a hattrick of own goals.

You do understand how league tables work and what decides the rank. Higher teams win more lower team win less, with a big difference between top and bottom. The Top 3 for 2017/18 lost 7,10,8 of their 46 games The Bottom 3 lost 23,25,25 Your lack of understanding is laughable. The league currently suggests that Leeds, WBA & Bristol are harder to beat than Millwall, Reading & Ipswich. Beighton Owl 87
It's a big month or so ahead for us. We will know by the time we visit the sty whether or not we have enough for top 6. I reckon we will probably win next two then lose to Bristol City cos we're so predictably unpredictable.

Couple of exceptions, but looks, pretty much as most would have predicted When do you think the table 'takes shape', does it suddenly take shape after one magical number of games? If so what is that number?

Be patient Holmsy.

Dunkstar
We've got a chance to finish in the top 6. We've got a chance to finish in the bottom 6. Most likely we'll finish somewhere in between, pretty much the same as the majority of previous seasons.
